if they persist with the 3 4 3 we have to start doku and savinho as they will have acres of space out wide

They're very good defensively, although arguably not that tested domestically. Their CL games have been Lille, PSV and Sturm Graz so not the biggest tests and they've only conceded once. Only 3 conceded in 10 games in the league as well.

But we're a different proposition if we play at our best. I think you're right, we want width to occupy their wing backs and then look to run the inside channels to drag their CBs out to give us numbers in the middle.

I'm just hoping for a much better performance than we've seen recently. Dominate the game from the first whistle to the end. Get the confidence back ahead of Brighton - and no fucking injuries ideally!

We'll never hear the end of it from the media of Sporting get a result against is tonight. They'll all be hoping for a Sporting win.

Come On City!!!!
It's my usual mute technique and music while I watch away games on TV tonight along with feed on 3 mins before KO (where I do normally put the sound on CL games just for the boos).

I've watched a few of their league games, a bit like City they are really susceptible to pace behind but he's made some adjustments for when they are out of possession this season. Been impressed with Trincao, moves well between the lines so someone we'll need to keep an eye on and Edwards is really good too.

Will be interesting to see if we get a reaction tonight to the rumoured long meeting the players and management had on Sunday.
Or if there is any improvement to the general flatness of our play of late.

Just looking at there stats in the Champions League games,

Sporting seem to face alot of shots on and off target against the opposition.

PSV:
Total shots - 18
Shots On Target - 6
Possession - 57%

Sturm Graz:
Total Shots - 11
Shots On Target - 6
Possession - 40%

Lille: (Down to 10 men after 40 minutes)
Total Shots - 3
Shots On Target - 2
Possession - 50%

You'd like to think if get so many shots away they'll hit the back of the net. Be clinical on front of goal and we'll win this game.

We'll need about 20 shots per goal based on current form!

Ortega
Akanji, Ake, Gvardiol
Lewis, Kovacic, Nunes
Savinho, Foden, Doku
Haaland

Would really like to see this tonight. Although Pep definitely needs to tell Kovacic to stay behind the ball at all times.
