Sporting CP (H) - CL Last 16 | Post Match Thread

If I want to be hyper critical of anything, I thought the subs were very weird. Mahrez is in prime form and has played plenty recently, he doesn't need minutes, Delap, kayky or Edozie should have been on instead
Pep knows Mahrez is looking for numbers. Was giving his ego a boost there

Lets hope not, but Bernardo took a knock just before half time which he limped away from (wasn't treated), so lets hope he's OK.

We played OK, in a very reserved way, but should still have won by 2 or 3, that Sterling miss at the end was terrible, he missed the goal by more than he was away from it.
Agree with most of that , apart from the Sterling miss i think he had an eye on the Sporting player diving in at 100mph to take his egs off and rushed his finish , not worth risking a serious injury in a dead rubber game and he did the right thing to jump out of the way of a bad challange. Because there is no chance the ref would have given a penalty after the two assaults on Jesus drew a blank.

What the fucsk matter with some of you fuckers ???
We were always going to play a sub standard team (for want of a better word) for obvious reasons, and yet you still moan !!!
I would have still been happy with a 0-3 defeat based on Peps decision that we really were on a bog standard display without any injuries or sendings off.
Well played Pep,the Team and all those who believe in the greatest PL manager of our time.
Yes I accept that Fergie still holds that mantle but if we can keep hold of Pep for the next couple of years then Fergie will be shitting himself with those wonderful words.
"Not in my lifetime" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haahahhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Who are yer, who are yer " !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two hours of my life I'll never get back as someone said earlier. Actually closer to four hours with getting there and back.
Clean sheet, no injuries and Scott Carson got a run out.

Frustrating not to have won the game. Didn't need to but I didn't like the almost half arsed attempt from Raz from Foden's pass. If it's 0-0 in the first leg he doesn't do that.

His miss at the end was typical of him. Great movement, great touch to get a shot away but drags it.

Oh well. Job done and we move on. Some good sides in the draw but the 4 already through will be happy with most of the teams that play next week. Chelsea perhaps the exception.

Exactly what I expected

I’ll take the positives

- no injuries or suspensions
- key players rested
- kids and fringe players got minutes
- clean sheet

I’ll never remember a second of this game again
Well said. Especially the first point.
