Sporting CP (H) - CL Last 16 | Post Match Thread

Right I think we can put it all down to number 5 and 6. You've made an admirable effort to input some positivity into tonight's game and I think we can all agree that indeed 2,3,4 and 7 were positives. It's great to see some youngsters blooded. I don't see how any of that made the game any less boring though. It was a snooze fest whatever way you want to paint it.

As for coping in the 90,'s I coped in the 60s, 70s 80's and 90's thanks. I even survived the Pearce era of I think it was eight goals at home all season. So you have my CV and I stuck with them well before the good times returned. None of this made tonight's game any less boring but I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Fair enough, you asked!

Not the best which was a shame for the fans.Egan
-Riley didn't go wide or forward enough first half which didn't help although he was much better second half. Shame Gabriel's goal chalked off and some other chances didn't go in
Yes, agreed on ER - got the sense he was ‘playing it safe’ which I guess was understandable

Certainly not a classic, but the hard work in the first leg made tonights game an inevitable dead rubber. Thought that McAtee made some nice, confident touches. Most important thing was to get through to the last 8.

Dead rubber match. They always are when we win the first leg by a large score. I predicted 0-0 or 1-0. Oh well would still rather be in the position we were in than have to win or draw these these kind of matches.

Highlight of the night was their fans kicking off for no reason and seemingly with nobody.

The game was as forgettable as it gets.
