I don't think Spurs rolled over as such but they lacked any conviction whatsoever and were set up poorly. I have no problem accepting that Utd came good in the final thirty minutes but it reminded me of nothing more than us beating Villa 4-0 last year. Sometimes teams just don't turn up. I saw it coming a mile off when earlier in the week when Harry played his best team in a competition that he doesn't rate. The Modric thing is a big 'get it sorted, see how much it affects us' to Levy, as was the central midfield partnership. It's not that Harry thinks he can fool Levy, it's that he knows he can swing public opinion to put the pressure on him.Pigeonho said:Why would Spurs 'roll over'? What have they got to achieve from that?
They are a poor side being beaten by a much better side who have at least 2 gears left. We should beat Spurs as comfortably as United have tonight, no reason why not other than them being at home but we've gone to a tough place in the Reebok, played shit hot and come away with a win. From what i've seen Bolton are better than Spurs, so on that basis we have nothing to worry about, especially not some po-faced conspiracy theory that they roll over against United! I mean really?!
I have seen absolutely nothing so far to suggest anything other than us and United going toe-to-toe for the title from about February onwards, if not before.

No way they will let us beat them as comfortably. Not for all the Adebayors in the world. The Modric situation will be resolved, they will actually play two central midfielders worthy of the title, (rather than a has been winger and a never will be youngster). And their attitude will be a hundred times better, they will want to make amends for this, get their season going, get the home fans on their side, and stick one over the team that beat them to the CL. If nothing else, I guarantee you that Lennon and VDV will suddenly remember how to pass to other players, and that Dawson will remember the basics of marking up in the area.

My post was 100% football related without winding anyone up. My post also came a good hour and a half after the game. If they close these boards to supporters of other teams I suppose I'll have to stop posting but until that happens I'm not sure what to tell you.

It just seems like they said to fuck with it after the first goal. Before that it was anyone's game, and they also seemed to run out of steam about the 70th minute which is inexcusable at this level, even if it is their first game.
