Spurious Claim to Fame

My mum and dad live next door to the ex wife of the singer from a 70's band whose Christmas song is played everywhere when it's Christmas.

I was at school and in the same class as Martin Sixsmith, who was the civil servant involved in the "good day to bury bad news" affair and was portrayed by Steve Coogan in the film Philomena.

Sir Howard Davies, celebrity City fan and RBS chairman, was my assistant patrol leader in Scouts (and got me interested in Scouts in the first place)

Any one remember Paul and Barry Ryan?
My ex wife used to play with them as kids.
Now, a challenge: can you post something more spurious than that?
