Spurious Claim to Fame

My mum grew up round the corner from Emlyn Hughes in Barrow and they used to play Tin Can Lurky in the evenings.
 
I DJ’d at what was probably Nigeria’s first ever (and possibly only) beach rave in 1999.

I nutmegged Nicky Butt in a school yard game of football, before unleashing a 20 yard rocket into the top corner (well...would have been top corner if there had been posts and a crossbar, rather than jumpers)

Recently found out Amanda Holden is a distant second cousin.

Played cricket on the same team as Derek Jeffries (decent left handed opener) and also with Mike Atherton’s brother as a youngster.
 
In 1998 me and some of my mates sat on the same Chai mat as Richard Gere after a full moon party in Goa, India. He was dressed all in White and cross legged staring at the rising sun - weird night all round

Funny you should mention Stuart Hall.

My best mate at school never spoke of his dad but Stuart was in various pictures in the house.

Wished I'd have asked him (the lad) about it now especially as he used to come to games with me in our teens, often wondered in later life what the connection was.

My mother once worked with Arthur Mann's missus.
One day I was stood outside Maine Road talking to two random blokes and Colin Bell came along and joined the conversation. Lovely bloke. Not one bit up himself like so many "stars".

Not May 2011 was it, with the rags losing to Barcelona 3-1 in the CL final at Wembley on the Saturday? I was on that flight with him too.
In the queue to dump the bags off for the flight, I had a chat with Pab Zab, who was in the next queue, bound for Madrid.
The night before was the "Homecoming" event at the Etihad, after the Cup Final win.
 
I sit next to a lady at the Etihad that used to work with the Gallagher brothers mum and knew the boys very well. She used to ‘worry about Liam’.
I also nearly had a fight at school with a legendary Scottish Rugby International lock forward/no 8.
He was bloody lucky.
 
I kissed a girl from college who then kissed Shane Warne some months later.

Rob Collier’s (Coro and Downton Abbey) mates used to beat me up on the school bus.

I had an argument on here with Jason Manford that lasted about a fortnight.

I met Gemma Atkinson at my aunt’s funeral.

I had a chat to Ben Thornley whilst we were both having a piss behind a chippy. He used to let on to me all the time. Decent bloke.
