Spurs’ new stadium

City should tell them Friday Saturday and Sunday no problem at any ground in London the rumoured Monday night we should insist it ain’t happening.

Like I said earlier they should just sort out use of the emirates or olympic stadium, if london clubs are going to be dicks and refuse then ask villa to used villa park, smaller yes but biggest available ground outside london bar the ones up here.

Give over. Levy is micromanaging the project. the guy can't help himself.

No, he isn't.

He is certainly closely involved with regard to what the stadium will offer in terms of facilities and ensuring that they are the best possible. And that has doubtless led to changes (as is common on every project). But he doesn't involve himself with electrical and safety systems or any other technical element of the build. That is Mace's responsibility.

Let's wait and see the CL draw and fixture schedule, but Friday is better avoided. We might have a CL group game on Wednesday, 24 October, in which case we'd hardly be wanting to play Spurs 48 hours later.

I think the penny-pinching is aimed at not preparing a plan B, rather than the stadium spec. I'm sure for the money you've paid, it WILL be a great stadium.

Nobody is denying that large and innovative construction projects can hit unexpected delays, but this makes having no alternative plan even more careless. We now have honest, hard-working supporters likely being out of pocket because of it, and another club being greatly inconvenienced. This is why there are rules and regulations laid out for the competitions that teams agree to abide by, so the games can be organised in a timely fashion and no-one is disadvantaged.

Let's hope the rumours are all incorrect, and the game goes ahead as scheduled. It is, after all, one of the better games in the league.

Agreed.

The failure to realise that there would be an issue on the day of the Man City game is THE big fuckup. Not the delay to the build itself.

And, indeed, let's hope that the game can proceed as originally planned at new WHL on 28th October - even if it must be with a reduced capacity.

Lets hope as there is little or no wriggle room for a rescheduled game in this season's congested fixture list.

It'd be great if we played it on 28th October as scheduled.

Do you think there's any chance this could happen?

I don't think it can be entirely ruled out yet - as too many people seem to be doing. Spurs certainly haven't ruled it out. Not publicly, anyway.

And if the only alternative was for Spurs to forfeit the points and receive a points deduction and fine on top, the game could and would definitely be played at new WHL - in an empty stadium, if necessary. The safety systems are designed for the safe, timely and easy flow of 62K spectators into, around and out of the stadium and the safety certificates relating to that wouldn't be required (or, at least, anything like as exacting) for a game with no spectators.

Yeah that sounds good away fans miss a game because of spurs incompetence.

You try to make some good points to make us believe game is on schedule
and then come out with the idea of a new WHL opener without spectators, just wow!

Will look great on TV mate. Unforgettable.
Sky can't wait for sure.

Yes, and ten times more Spurs fans would miss a game too. But they'd all miss the game in the event that it had to be forfeited too.
