Spurs’ new stadium

BTW not checking the fire alarm circuits immediately after installation is simply irresponsible. This is totally down to Spurs as they appointed Mace as a construcrion partner to save money.

The fire alarm systems were checked. And passed. The problem is with integration between various systems. And that could only be done once all systems were up and running.

More tales of Spurs stadium construction woes:

So what do we know:
1. Levy micromanaging the project.
2. Fit out contractors chosen by the club (not Mace).
3. Different contractors on site causing confusion.
4. Fire alarm Installation by ADT is (and I quote a friend of mine who works in commercial fire alarms) a "bag of shite".
5. Chronic shortage of sparks to work on site. Quality of staff taken on is woeful and there is a high turn over of staff.
6. Flame proof boarding for some areas of the ground only just ordered.
7. Six week lead time to re-book local authority people and other trained peiple for stadium safety events.
8. The stadium isn't going to be ready for two plus months.
9. The stadium was never going to be ready on time when fixtures were rearranged for TV.

I think we can forget WHL being ready for the 28th October.

LOL!

The first link is to a blog by a so called Spurs fan who has zero credibility and is universally reviled by Spurs fans on the internet. He is a troll and obsessive Levy hater who posts daily, doom-mongering "itk" - none of which has ever come to pass.

The second link is inaccurate. BASE were awarded the contract for the fit out of the shop, museum and ticket office. Not for the stadium itself.

Levy is part of the problem - he’s managing a huge project in his penny pinching manner but doesn’t know what the fuck he’s doing.

No, he isn't managing the project. Mace are. Levy is closely involved, though. Too many people, whether on Spurs forums or here, are commenting without really knowing what they're talking about. The accusation that this build has been poorly managed is laughable. Sure, they haven't met their deadline. But that is the norm for major construction projects - especially those as complex as this one has been, with a tight schedule. This is a case of aiming high and just falling short (how very Spurs!).

And you couldn't be more wrong about the penny pinching, by the way. This stadium will have more bells and whistles and better facilities for all ticket classes than any stadium outside of the U.S.

Lets hope we get to see them this season ;-)

Give over. Levy is micromanaging the project. the guy can't help himself.

City should tell them Friday Saturday and Sunday no problem at any ground in London the rumoured Monday night we should insist it ain’t happening.

That would be interesting as half the circuits weren't even in existence.
I used to work on the technical delivery of big Fire/Safety systems ( e.g. Channel Tunnel) and I still have contacts in the industry and I assure you, the White heart Lane project is currently a laughing stock. Levy's penny pinching is costing Spurs a lot of money and credibility. Systemic project failure across the board in fact.

I think the penny-pinching is aimed at not preparing a plan B, rather than the stadium spec. I'm sure for the money you've paid, it WILL be a great stadium.

Nobody is denying that large and innovative construction projects can hit unexpected delays, but this makes having no alternative plan even more careless. We now have honest, hard-working supporters likely being out of pocket because of it, and another club being greatly inconvenienced. This is why there are rules and regulations laid out for the competitions that teams agree to abide by, so the games can be organised in a timely fashion and no-one is disadvantaged.

Let's hope the rumours are all incorrect, and the game goes ahead as scheduled. It is, after all, one of the better games in the league.

Certainly not on a pitch that will resemble a Turnip patch after 6 teams of NFL hulks have smashed it up over the preceding three weeks.
