Spurs’ new stadium

Try being one of us. We know we're sh*t and know our place. Although if you look back 18 years we had a team 2 players away from a contender. Terrance brown killed us and the dildos will do it again. The 'y' words are miles away from us but are perennial chokers.

I've got so used to us being crap I almost like it. Can't you think back to the absolute joy of an unexpected winner at anfield or old Trafford? It's what it's all about. Absolute waste of time and money, but just occasionally it's worth it

So what?

I simply do not understand the insistence that some have with punishing Spurs. They are the team most disadvantaged by the delay

I think its because every man and their dog knew they were bullshitting the FA,as a result they have played a higher % of games away than rival teams and thus have more home games in the 2nd half than anyone else giving them an advantage. Add to levy being an absolute **** and some of us still being being upset by 81 and I think this forum has been amazingly gracious about our beloved spuds.

Or the contractors were bullshitting Spurs.

Its not punishing Spurs its giving back integrity to the competition, each club playing their away game at the same stadium.

It was clear that the project timing was flawed, and Levy knew it he shafted the PL into using Wembley for a season and a half. There were reports that the roof was never going to be ready until late in the year way back in Augyst https://www.building.co.uk/news/roof-on-late-spurs-stadium-only-started-a-year-ago/5095307.article before the safety issues were used as an excuse

Using Wembley as a alternative for home games whilst a new stadium is built, on your existing site, is not available to the majority of clubs and IMHO shouldn't have been allowed in any case

If they play at Wembley until Feb I wonder if the FA should make them complete the season there - if they have played 2/3rds of their games at one venue shouldn’t they play them all there? The PL must be wondering (well I certainly am) about the commitment Spurs gave before the fixtures were released that they’d only need Wembley for a few weeks - that was clearly bullshit and I suspect that Spurs knew that,- when they made the commitment- the project must have been miles off schedule then. Spurs obviously calculated that it was better not to be upfront and believed they’d getter a better hearing from the FA if they sought further dispensation when there were no other options - when the season was underway with fixtures arranged and tickets sold (as was the case with our fixture). Spurs have had special dispensation to stay at Wembley - October has passed - so I do wonder if all 19 teams should play them at the same ground. The FA have been pretty lenient but I can’t help but wonder if Spurs have taken the piss and allowed issues to trickle out rather than be open and upfront.

Haha I appreciate the honesty.

It's not about the stadium at all.

Whether it is right or wrong. The FA sanctioned it. Hard to see how they can now punish Spurs.

They sanctioned a couple of games then were forced to accept a extension on the grounds of H&S systems when, in reality it was never ready. I've not advocated that Spurs should be punished, my only concern it for the true integrity of the competition.

So you are saying that Spurs acted dishonestly and misrepresented the situation and that is why they should be punished? Hard one to prove that. I think you need the email from Levy saying lets fuck up the Premier League by lying about the stadium completion date. I am not sure that email exists. I am sure the email to Levy from Mace exists where they say the stadium will be finished on time,

Don't know about the early exchanges on the Wembley plan, but something major has gone wrong if a September start (and October, and December, and now January) is missed by so much. Levy has certainly been economical with the truth, but I doubt he's openly lied. He does however appear to be the Teflon man for that huge bonus he got (am i right that it was for delivering the stadium on time?)

The FA have been craven and inept in allowing this to develop so far. I do think Spurs have got away with blue murder over this, and the disruption caused to others (obviously the fiasco with the City match is pretty strongly felt here!). It should really have got to the point of "Wembley for the season" now.

I feel a bit sorry for the Spurs fans, who are copping it for the sliminess of Levy's shenanigans. Quite looking forward to going to the new ground though - it looks very impressive.

Liverpool, City, Utd were the (shock) starting matches declared as intentions. Who's next - Chelsea or Arsenal?

The Champions League last 16 match?

Levy does not want this delay. It damages the brand and cost the club a fortune. The suggestion that Levy planned all this is simply ludicrous.

Why would he lie? I can not see any motivation for him to do so.

Forget any emails, from the hold out business going up in flames to sub contractors complaining about incorrect wages, it's not much of a stretch to think Levy is a lying so and so. But as for the CL, as long it against us, or in favour of the dippers, I wish all British club's any advantage they can get against the 15 man opposition.
