Spurs (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Kicking "through" a player is ok to score v us, as is "key contact"(rugby tackle) during a corner ok before ball lands.

Dont care how good or bad we play, officials are primed to keep the opposition in the game.

We are not good enough to win against shit officiating like we were 3-4 years ago.

This is why Pep gets booked regularly for raising issues with the refs, we get shafted every week now.

Sky and the like will highlight small mercies we do get in order to cover it up too.

We are not a welcome part of the pl "product", and it has never been more obvious.

Just win the league cup to stop an arse domestic treble, couldnt give a shit beyond that.

Feels like things (maybe 115 dropping) are coming to a head, hope we kick arses when found not guilty.

Other than that, a shit second half sums it up.

One of the other things for me is that we know how shite/corrupt the prem and pgmol is, Pep has said for years that we have to be so much better than the other team to make sure we win. The message seems to get through to the players for the first half only. When we start to stop working and the opposition start to get more possession, we seem to have forgotten the message. That git Jones today was so bad against us, basically giving spuds open range on us like the other times he has been the ref in our games.

We haven't got the energy or mentality to negate shit/bent officiating. It's like playing in leg irons at times. Ever since he played on for Cherki's goal he went into reverse and started giving Spurs every 50/50.

Their first goal is a clear foul. SWP is calling it out in the post match discussion on the City OS.

Never underestimate the effect of that kind of officiating has on both teams.

The PiGMOL also need to sort out what constitutes a foul at corners. Claiming Haaland was "fouled before the ball was in play, so it doesn't count", but then it meant he wasn't in position to attack the ball when the corner was taken is absolute fucking BULLSHIT. The foul had a direct influence on the play.
We got what we deserved. Scrappy point against a poor team. We’re just not the brilliant team we were.

Guardian summed it up perfectly:
Jamie Redknapp in the Sky studio said “City have been wonderful”. They really haven’t… but they haven’t needed to be. A wonderful City side would be leading 5-0 or 6-0 right now.

But waspish I think they would perform much better under a new coach. Doesn’t seem like Pep knows how to coach this team. He looks lost. We should’ve come out in a second half on fire because we were pissing about in the first half. Doesn’t take a genius to know that Spurs would come out guns blazing.

Pep ain’t thick he knows when a team is good enough as he see training every day! We had enough chances to score another 2 at least that ain’t down to pep!

“They will come flying out of the blocks. This is absolutely predictable. Rocket at half-time, booed off — they have to up the pace. Now we've been guilty in several matches recently of starting the second half dozily, as if we're still in the changing room. We have absolutely got to match their intensity, right from the get-go. Pep will have surely emphasised this.

Edit: for once, we could take a lesson from Arsenal at Leeds. They didn't assume the game was done and dusted.”

I posted that at half-time. It is truly terrible, truly depressing, to see the train wreck coming in so many games and not see either the team or the manager do anything about it. Even Wolves gave us much more of a game in the second half. This is happening over and over.
What on earth is happening?
Never mind whether their goals were blatants cheats and utter flukes. We should be beating that awful Spurs team 4 or 5-2.
I've just blown several hundred pounds worth of air fares and train fares (+ hotel + the seat) to see us against Fulham. I swear that if they produce that second half performance again against them, I really don't know when I'll be over again.

Bollocks

this ha nothing to do with Peps politics or whatever...these performances have been there ALL season.

And if you care more about football than kids being killed you need to check your head (and that goes for any side of the conflict)

Look, if you are running the team with an iron fist and not allowing the players to take the piss then i would agree
with you, but Pep is slacking and dropping the hard rules and letting players get away with murder,

You don't leave in the run-up to a big game because you feel your support is needed to help a political cause
It sends the wrong message to everybody

He did ...... he's nowhere near the player that he used to be, that's for sure .... he's that slow now even his 'professional fouls' stand out !
His teammates aren't much help for him either playing suicide passes and leaving him in the shit, that's not to mention the majority of our team being complete fannies.
