I just listened to the David Mooney and Jack Gaughan preview podcast for this game and was absolutely dumbfounded at how much we are being utterly written off.

Jack is as City friendly a journalist as there is, and yet he pretty much ruled out the idea we would win this, or could win the league. Mooney pushed back a bit after he suggested anyone at the top could win the league except City, to the point where he said if Leicester could win in 2016 then you can't rule us out, but then he said we could easily finish 7th to 9th.

I can only assume he's tapping into the general mood around the press box which is incredibly down on City but Jesus Christ, some people have completely lost touch with who they are talking about here.

Dom, agree with the sentiment but you've got the wrong Jack. It was Jack Pitt-Brooke not Jack Gaughan.

His attitude was really surprising - so out of the loop with current state of play.
Yet he then talks about his experience at the City v Spurs CL tie and his "grief" at the outcome. A genuine emotional reaction as a City fan.

Ederson
Walker Dias Laporte Cancelo
KDB Rodders Bernardo
Ferran Jesus Foden

Not sure if that will be the starting 11, but that is the team I would go with. Even if Sterling is fit I would put him on the subs bench as his form is not the best at the moment.
What?!
No Gundogan?
Absolutely no chance of that happening;-)

New session of Guess the team/score compy starts with this game.

Can you get inside Pep's head?

Rules & Regs in the first post in here:- https://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/...score-compy-session-1-game-1-wolves-a.347266/

This is either the game where all of our in form players begin to come together and we gel as a team showing what they can do or another experiment where we slog around on the pitch and get nowhere in our final third. If we can take a win away from this game and look halfway decent doing it I think this could be our turning point.
That’s how I see it. Our early season form has been stop start but always confident of going on a run and getting back to our usual game. I think this could be the one where that run starts.

Ederson

Walker
Dias
Laporte
Cancelo

Fernandinho
Foden
DeBruyne

Sterling
Jesus
Torres

it might mean KDB being slightly more reserved than usual to maintain control but we have to try and get foden in the middle of the pitch.

if sterling isn’t 100% then foden wide and likely to see Gundogan centrally

According to one bright spark in the media Spuds will beat a "declining" Manchester City , one defeat in 12 and unbeaten in 9 games , and with Kun , Jesus and Dinho on the way back just hope our decline ends soon
Stay undefeated all we like in the league but keep dropping points with draws and we’re soon out of the title race. 2 of the players you mention are very much past their peaks.Yes we’ve got the potential to get it together again now the defence finally looks sorted and with the likes of Torres and Foden who could improve more and more as the season goes on. Hard to argue with someone not connected with club however looking at us over the last 18 months and surmising we’ve declined quite significantly.

I never thought my biggest concern going into a city game is scoring/taking our chances. For the first time in a while I’m actually confident in our defence
