Pochettino making excuses that they are a bit behind City in the preseason. They actually started back a week earlier than us.

I don't think that comment was meant in terms of fitness, it was a not so subtle message to Levy that we've bought the players we need this summer or most of them anyway and they've yet to spend a penny.

It was only a friendly but the signs are good that the new guys will be a vast improvement to the squad, the way we play and allow us to execute the game plans Pep has.

Last night's game was very similar to the league game at the Etihad last year. Twatted them and should have been out of sight. If Aguero and Jesus start banging them in we will be a happy set of blues.

I'd like to see teams try to press us with a high line. Especially on our goal kicks. A couple of bombs over their heads from Ederson and they'll soon fuck off back to square one.

It's so good for our build up. We can leave players so high in their half, knowing that Ederson can reach them, so they then have to drop their entire back line deeper. Then, if they continue pressing our defenders to stop the short pass, Ederson can just clip it into midfield where there'll be a ridiculous amount of space as their team will be stretched the length of the pitch. Or, if they sack off the high press to remain compact, we just play the short pass to the split centre backs and build up without pressure. Just brilliant.
