Spurs Post Match Thread | ICC match in Nashville

City played well, we sooooo closed them out of it. I do think they were not as on their game as we were, maybe it mean more to us, but could have been v different in first minute if Trippier pass was converted. My god the press would have had a field day

Danilo played well enough to work some space but his crossing aand shooting let him down. KDB was amazing, Kompany had a good game too, nice to see him staying fit because we are heading for the same thing this year of being shy in front of goal.

I am convinced we need Sanchez now, if he had those chances we missed last night we would have got a lot more. Always will have a soft spot for Aguerro but he is part of thiss missing in front of goal thing now which makes me wonder how he has a high score rate, whats his record against the top six? But we need somneone with enough confidence to put those chances away.

Good game overall, and still got Mendy and Bernardo to come.

but he'd take up a foreign spot
We've got even more deadwood to clear out, so there's still scope for additional foreign spots. Mangala, Fernando, Kelechi (He may still be classed as club trained), Brattan, Denayer & Bony. This lot clearly have no future with us & I'd rather see us retain Nasri and promote 3-4 of our EDS to the first team squad.

Taking loss of form, injuries, suspensions & players needing to be rested, the addition of Nasri on the basic terms and understanding that Yaya was under last season are plus points for City going forward.

This is a different Manchester City to the new boys on the block who Nasri, Yaya & Tevez joined. Back then we needed those players more than they needed us, but as last season's stand off with Yaya proved, those players will only be at Manchester City on our terms. There surely is no further doubt that Manchester City rule at Manchester City & will no longer stand for any bollocks at our club.

I'd love nothing more than for Nasri to be given a chance at redemption. If we're going for all 4 competitions as Pep alluded to, we're gonna need all the quality & experience we can get our hands on & Nasri falls slap bang into that category IMO.

I've nicked this from @St.Pauli support in another thread

Without Mangala, Denayer, Fernando, (Delph,) Nasri, Bony and Iheanacho

...we have 4 free foreign spots for FA,
...but only 2 free spots for UEFA CL (Sané and Jesus being on a foreign spot there!).

Foreign spots:
1
Ederson.......2 Bravo
3 Kompany......4 Otamendi.....5 ( new CB? Mangala?)
6
Mendy.........7 Danilo
8 Gundogan......9 Fernandinho....10 Yaya Touré
11 David Silva....12 KDB...........13 Bernardo Silva
14 Aguero...........15 ........
16 (left winger?)...17 (left back?)

Homegrown:
18
Stones...19 Sterling.....20 Walker

U21 (domestic competitions):
Sané and Gabriel Jesus.............
-> taking a foreign spot in UEFA CL matches though!!
Adarabioyo...Maffeo...Aleix Garcia...Roberts...Foden...Diaz.....

So the two foreign spots available are already not including the players you mentioned. I guess he could be included and just excluded from the CL squad but I doubt he'd be happy with that.

It starts off very, very bitter.

Didn't even find it funny myself thought it was alarmingly bitter, full of shit then a bit sad with the 'oil rigger' blatantly racist undertone. Leave them to talk finances whilst we enjoy the football

I hope so but we played that game like it was a league game, and Spurs played it like it was a friendly.

can't help but be seriously impressed though - finishing apart. The £115m spent on full backs is going to be well worth it. Looks like they have added a lot to our game. The bonus for me was danilo. I didn't realise he was that good

Sorry Marv not buying that. Spurs came to win. And they tried to kick us off the park. We made them look like the way you describe by our sheer class in my humble opinion.

This is then the exact same as Yaya last season before Gundogan was injured. This is when we were all glad to have a revitalised Yaya back in the CL squad. Without him, we'd have been fucked.

Nasri knows he's fucked up and needs to show he's sorry for this his decision to go out on loan last season. I believe if he showed the humility he apparently has this pre-season, Pep proved with Yaya that there may well be an unlikely way back for Nasri..... Here's hoping! :-)

Bloody scary that we dominate like this, even without Bernardo Silva and Mendy :D

Ederson looks very promising, so does Danilo, find it difficult to see that Clichy and Kolarov would have been in the same positions as Danilo last night.
Clichy career higlights if u can use that word wouldnt of matched Danillos performance.
