To be fair, with City having won 22 (?) Of their last 23 games it is hardly surprising your fans are confident. As I have said a couple of times, City are obviously very heavy favourites to win the tie over two legs but I think tonight is 50-50.
I'd like to win tonight if only because we have so much on our plate, but your view of this leg is fair. Bravado aside, I think most blues know how difficult this will be. Last season we got KO'd by Liverpool at this stage and that thought will be in many blues minds. I am not sure whether than is a plus or a minus.

48 pages here and I can count on one hand the amount of predicted teams to have David Silva in them, if you dont think our best player at keeping hold of the ball, with the possible exception of Bernardo (who will start out wide), doesnt start in an away champions league quarter final then you all must be mad.

Difficult, difficult game tonight, Spurs should be on it from the first minute in the new stadium with 60 odd thousand in there facing their first major test, if we keep it solid for the first 15/20 ala anfield this year I can see us sneaking it by the odd goal.

Gutted im not going down tonight but im sure the lads and lasses that are will make themselves heard

it will be a close game over both legs. Spurs are a decent side and if on their game, will cause any team problems. Kane is a very good striker and is one of those players who can score from anywhere and they have a strong athletic midfield who will make it hard for us to play - I cannot see them sitting back - I think they will press and press hard - they are at home after all and must know if they sit back to try and defend then we will eventually find a way through.

The best way to play against us is to press us and press high as a team - they have the players to do this.

I'll be more than happy with a score draw. The majority of blues on here know how tough this is going to be.

Going to be a nervous wreck come kick off time. I'm sure Spurs fans will feel the same though.

Spurs are not as good as Liverpool so I do not worry about them taking the game away from us. If we can keep Kane and Son quite and limit the number of dead ball crossing/shooting opportunities they have then we should be fine - it is all about us taking our chances

I reckon most people expect him to start it's just for the first time in his City career a lot of people wouldn't pick him in our strongest team at the moment and it's hardly kneejerk it's based on form since the start of January. Keeping the ball will never be a problem to this team but lately we've not been very threatening with it on the whole by our standards. That's why many would prefer Bernardo in the middle with KDB and our two great wingers starting.

Its a City forum, so not quite sure what you expect my friend.

I don't think anyone on here is being anything other than reasonably confident in our very good team (but with a healthy dose of Mancunian fear & trepidation).

It was tongue in cheek mate. If I were a City fan I would be extremely confident.

I think it works in our favour somewhat as it is a no lose situation for us. Noone expects us to win. All the pressure is on you.

2-1 Spurs tonight, 3-1 to us next week.
Ederson
Danilo, Stones, Laporte, Mendy
Fernandinho
Sterling, De Bruyne, D. Silva, Sané
Aguero

Muric, Kompany, Otamendi, Gundogan, Mahrez, Bernardo, Jesus

I woke up today with the exact same thought.

Although Dave’s been a bit out of form, Tottenham are going to press like mad so we need to keep the ball and control the tempo. Pep trusts Dave for this more than any other.

For the same reason I think he’s going to play Stones and Laporte centre backs. Possibly Danilo left back, but I wouldn’t even rule out Fernandinho left back and Gundogan in the middle. Death by a thousand midfielders.

But if I was to guess, I’d go:

.............. Ederson
Walker...Stones...Laporte...Danilo
............Fernandinho
.......KDB.............Dave
Bernado.....Aguero........Sterling
