Spurs Vs City Post match thread.

Quietly, coolly and confidently, this team is developing some of the sweetest, most intelligent football seen in these islands for many a long year. Surely neutrals, if they love the game of football, must love watching us. By some way, it is a better team than the title winning one. The best elements of that team are still with us, and long may it continue. The two troublemakers - talented troublemakers, but troublemakers nonetheless — are gone. They have been replaced by four players who, it is now emerging clearly, are absolute class. We've had some difficulty replacing NDJ, but he wanted to go, and there's nothing to be said about it. If only Nastasic can get back to the level he was at last season, alongside Vinny, I don't see, blue specs off, what the limit is for this current side. We may not win anything - we haven't won anything yet, although I'd be pretty astonished if there isn't some form of silverware in the trophy cabinet come the end of May - but I will say right now that this is already a truly fantastic season, whatever happens.
This season, I've spent time thinking about the team I grew up with. Nelly, Colin, Buzzer etc. Now I love and revere that team, because it's my youth, and there are things you live through on the Kippax that can't be replaced. When you're fourteen, and Franny scores a scorcher, it's (almost) better than sex. But I have come to the reluctant conclusion — I know, it's different eras, different pitches, different levels of athleticism, different guidelines for referees, etc., etc. — but it is my conviction that, on song, this current team would play that team off the park. And that's not easy to say. We are living through quite an era. Drink it in.

We are unplayable at the moment. Pity about Aguero but now Jovetic is back we have ample cover.

Beat Chelsea and its ours......
Jovetic is good but right now Aguero is one of the top 4 players on earth and therefore only replaceable by god himself

That could have very easily been 15-0 had edin had his shooting boots on. Many will crticise him, deservedly so because his finishing was shocking but his first touch and passing were quality.

Donkeyish in his finishing. He doesn't just miss the bar by half a yard or so, he puts rugby conversions over the bar. Then he holds up the ball beautifully, and plays superb through balls for the others to finish off. Does my head in, that lad.

Tim Sherwood said last night that at this moment in time we are the best team on the planet.

Im not sure about that we are up there though and we have to use this bulldozer mentality to keep going in the champions league. Defensive teams tend to lose these days and that was Mancinis problem . We need to stick the knife in to Barcelona and keep twisting it

Respect to Sherwood post match, went up in my estimation.
Yup, already liked him. Obviously he was hurting, but told it exactly how he saw it and I couldn't really disagree with anything he said.

I think he could see them into 4th.

Come on lads.......Talk about a bunch of spoilt c**** we're becoming. We've just beaten Spurs 5-1!!!!

Who would you rather have who'd accept being a 3rd striker? With Kun's injuries becoming so common, we could be really struggling. Edin is a 'guaranteed' goal scorer...... something that's not easy to find.

I've defended Edin on this forum many times. Believe it, I am very, very happy to have him as third striker. I just think — in fact, I know — that he can be better. And I want to see it. He was visibly annoyed with himself. Can we not be annoyed with him?

As a neutral i cant believe the luck that man city get.

Rose was never a penalty or a red card. He clearly won the ball. Dawson was never offside and adebayor wasnt even in the picture so how can he be interferring with play?

Its just unbelievable how many decisions man city get. You really are the luckiest club in the world.

and its only a matter of time before FFP rules catch up with you because we all know your stadium naming deal was dodgy as fook.

And you cant tell me you can maintain a yearly wage bill of £230 million and stay within the FFP rules??!! no fecking way. Your not even the biggest club in your city let alone Europe. You cant fill your stadium now so why are you expanding it? Your a joke club with rich owners who will one day get bored and leave and then you'll all be in the shit and back in the 3rd division.

wikipedia says he's a norwich fan, suspect that was before he lied on his cv to become a bt 'rag' pundit

I've never in my life seen us start like we did yesterday. We were absolutely fluid and immense. If we start like that at home against barca, I can see them with a mountain to climb when we play them at the nou camp.
