Spurs Vs City Post match thread.

It was a one-on-one with the keeper so clearly it was an obvious goalscoring opportunity. If you don't give a red for that, then every time a player is through on goal you might as well hack him down if the result is only a penalty, which may or may not be harder than the original chance. With no red cards we could see 5+ penalties per game.

Wow! Wasn't expecting that, even in my most optimistic dreams....

Can't understand at all what all the "Spurs were robbed" mallarky is all about. How they ended up with 10 players still on the pitch is the travesty!

The off-side goal was off-side, simple as that - probably twice (if Adebayor gets a touch first).

And the penalty was an absolute cert. Put that tackle anywhere else on the pitch, and it's a free-kick 99 times out of 99. He clearly makes contact with Dzeko's trailling leg just before the ball, it's a tackle from behind, he's pulling him back, and he wipes him out after the ball rolls free. You could perhaps argue that a red card was a bit harsh, but even then, the rules are clear about a tackle that prevents a clear shot on goal, which is what this was.

It seems that teams are now turning up to play us with the mentality that they are beaten before they get out of the dressing room.

In fact the opposition managers pre match greeting to Pellegrini may as well be "All right Mr Pellegrini I am ready for my thrashing now" Apologies to Gloria Swanson in Sunset Boulevard for the blatant plagiarism there.

A total joy to watch us last night, shame about the ref and spurs plan to try and kick us off the park but you can't have everything. How the fcuk Adebeyor did not get sent off is beyond me, imho the ref warns him the first time (taking into account he is playing against his old club and did not leave under happy {for him} circumstances) but books him thereafter. For me the stamp on MDM and the push on Yaya were both red card offences and I lost count of the number of times he should have had a yellow. I do hope, but not expect that the FA will be reviewing these incidents and issuing the appropriate ban, after all he has previous for stamping or does this only happen when the player concerned is wearing blue?

Lenny MacLean wasn't it, and yes, he is dead!

LOL at the Spurs knobhead. Encapsulates beautifully why they're so hated. Thick as a plank and labouring under the terminal delusion that Spurs are one of the big boys......despite not having won the league since Elvis was in the army , Harold MacMillan was PM and a pint cost thruppence h'appenny. Fcuking twat!
