Spurs Vs City Post match thread.

Whole team! What package of energy last night. There was a time when the left or right back Spurs receive the ball in an attempt to launch an attack and suddenly whole whole midfield starts to squeeze between them and the attacker but with such energy that the Spurs looked frightened at times while receiving a ball watching the four players sprint at them from all directions at each part of the field I was fascinated. Real team performance. By the way did you ever see player handle a ball 6 times like that after Edin shoot . How that was not a penno , what is more funny on BT it was not in u know refs mistakes .

It's one of those decisions that can go either way.The player ahead of the defender, one on one with the keeper and the defender takes the man but fractionally prior to that toe pokes the ball away.I think it was a penalty myself.

The offside was offside.Adebayor got a touch with his head and Dawson was offside as well.

We have suffered a few ''Offside'' goals against us that proved costly and that foul prior to the Sunderland goal so it is about time a few fell our way.

It was worrying that we were so much on top but kept on missing chances in the first half and if not for the penalty and sending off it may have proved costly, but i still think we would have edged a win.

I was sent this link by the chairman of our supporter's club (Southeast Blues) and didn't know where else to share it.... After last night it brought that epic day flooding back

bt sport concentrated on the injustices to spurs , but ignored spurs blatant handball in the 1st half , the fact the free kick leading to the correctly disallowed goal , was not a free kick , the offside goal was glanced on by adebayor therefore offside , danny rose did play the ball , but the new rule states you cannot use excessive force and foul the player after the ball is won.
Referee and linesman got absolutely everything right according to the current laws of the game , we simply played spuds off the park , and respect to tim sherwood for recognising this , refreshing honesty unlike wenger, moyes, rodgers, mourinho, pardew etc all whinging about decisons , when in reality they just cannot live with the current best football team in the world.

Not only that, but he pulled Dzeko's sleeve, dragging him down to the right, and as he slides in he catches the back of Dzeko's right calf. A nailed on penalty

And, the ball went a foot out of play deep into our half, n the move that led directly to them getting a corner from which they scored. They should not have had the ball in the first place.

Wow! Wasn't expecting that, even in my most optimistic dreams....

Can't understand at all what all the "Spurs were robbed" mallarky is all about. How they ended up with 10 players still on the pitch is the travesty!

The off-side goal was off-side, simple as that - probably twice (if Adebayor gets a touch first).

And the penalty was an absolute cert. Put that tackle anywhere else on the pitch, and it's a free-kick 99 times out of 99. He clearly makes contact with Dzeko's trailling leg just before the ball, it's a tackle from behind, he's pulling him back, and he wipes him out after the ball rolls free. You could perhaps argue that a red card was a bit harsh, but even then, the rules are clear about a tackle that prevents a clear shot on goal, which is what this was.
Spot on lad. Couldnt have put it better myself.

Both tackles from behind with one outside the area = yellow card and the other, inside the area and clearly denying a goal scoring opportunity = red card.

Whats your point?

What about when the comedy juggler comes on and starts in the penalty area - are they exempt from yellow card and penalties too?

No, it was a penalty and a yellow card offence as it wasn't clear that the shot would have definitely gone in.
The shot doesn't have to go in. The rule doesn't say it has to deny a goal. It's a clear goal scoring opportunity. If he has a clear shot on goal and is denied it with the foul, it's a red card. Irrespective of whether the Ball would have gone in, over, wide or saved

I thought Tim Sherwood showed true class last night in his comments - he's far too honest to be a manager :-) . He could have blamed the defeat on the ref's decisions but he was prepared to admit they were outclassed by a great team. You can bet Pardew wouldn't have done that

Adebayor however showed what a twat he truely is. Pushing Toure off the pitch when he was substituted and the ref letting him get away with murder. Can't believe that Spurs are putting all their faith in this guy.
