Overall I'd like to look at this month and say hopefully we are getting all our bad luck out of the way early, the amount of injuries to key players and the fact that we haven't played badly when we have lost despite those injuries(perhaps deserving the win more or at least a point) is not normal so luck will simply turn around eventually.
Today we had a clear offside not given to the point where players switched off thinking there's no way he wasn't going pull things back. Also Harry Kane was clearly offside for his goal for me too, I don't know why the commentary was trying to make a case it was difficult because I saw it real time he was waiting in an offside position when it was kicked.
Having said that though even though things went against us unfairly for their equalizer we played into their hands from that moment on to allow them more good fortune at our expense. Our defenders rush to get the ball back and up the field when things are against us, so much so that they either give a foul away like Otomendi did when Kane was going nowhere with it up on his own(should have just stayed with him applied a bit of pressure and he'd have probably end up running out of ideas/turning backwards/turning over possession) OR they either force a pass that never looking like coming off or hit and hope and it happens so much that it becomes predictable.
We need to learn to draw teams out of their own half, they were at home and got lucky with their equalizer, why not allow them to come forward and defend for a bit but give them nothing(which would have been totally doable if we had people behind the ball and not in their half) the crowd would get on their backs after a while(watching them falter and lose momentum) and it would be them trying to force it leaving us space to attack which once we have it we are the most lethal with in the league.
Aguero needs to get back to his best, they didn't have that fear of him we usually see because he wasn't getting behind them or looking like doing so, hopefully thats down to fitness and we will see the player we know and love again soon.
I actually feel bad for Caballero to be honest the first goal wasn't his fault and the ball should have been kicked into touch after his first save but KDB gave it away, Caballero has been on the sidelines for a long time so match sharpness isn't going to be there, he misjudged the ball for the 2nd goal which every keeper has done at some point.
Luck will turn around though imo all they have to do is keep their heads up, the commitment and desire etc get players back from injury and at full fitness and stop the silly rushing and panicking in the mean time. Attack only when they are composed, do it fast yes but not at the expense of all composure and tactical awareness. After getting that right the tide will turn because luck plays a part but it's only one piece of the puzzle that we can't really control and we've not gone far wrong from where we started the season for the rest of it, we're still the best team in the league.
