Not sure why so many people are angry about this. It gves us a much better chance now. Even if SWP, Robinho and Richards were OK for the game tomorrow as scheduled, they would not have been at 100%. They can now be properly nurtured and can play a part in the Blackburn game (if it's on!) to get their fitness back up. Then there's the bonus that Lescott will definately be back for the game at Old Trafford, giving us more height, which we'll need. Bridge i think will still miss both games, but you never know. Also, Togo's last group game is on the 19th and they're in the same group as Ivory Coast and Ghana, so they'll be knocked out on the 19th, making Adebayor available for the 2nd leg. RSC will also be back for both legs. Stevie Ireland will be in with a shot of making the 1st leg now, and will definately make the 2nd. Onuoha will be back for the 2nd leg. We'll also have Patrick Vieira for both legs (assuming he signs), and any other signings we make!

GET IN!!!!!!

this, this every time this!

the postponement will only help us!
we will be much stronger, and even better, i can now go to the away leg!!

Told you all exactly what was happening at 10.00 am this morning only to be slagged off by fellow blues.

You also said that you saw Johnson pissed up in Manchester one night when he was actually in London....
And you wonder why we dont believe a word you say....

To all those that said im talking bollocks when at 11.03am, i said that i have reliable information that the city v scum game would be called off, a full 57 minutes before the decision was made public. If i had any doubt that my source (uniteds groundsman) was making this up i would not have posted. I got quite a bit of stick from several members mentioning that i was making it up as the "uniteds groundsman" wouldnt know this information. So when i have some important info next time, please dont slag me off, cheers, rant over.

Fcukin 'ell mate you really are almost psychic to call this one.

I suppose the 12" of snow, road closures and general carnage had nothing to do with your speculation?

Next time you have any really important information I for one will not be slagging you off..

Truly ITK.

how much snow did you guys get? Don't you guys have road salt and plows???

Here in America snow 36+ hours before a game would be little to no problem whatsoever.

Very good post.

Back in the 70's and early 80's snow like this was common. As City were one of the first and few to have under soil heating we played games no problem and we were always on MOTD. Those were the dim and distant days when the councils had enough gritting trucks and snow ploughs to clear almost all the main roads. These days these council dick heads actually believe all the global warming bollocks they have been spouting on about for years. As such, they have virtually no gritters or facilities to clear the roads. I live near the A6, that is supposed to be road number 6 in the country- as I type it's covered in snow! This did not happen years ago... so that's why the game is off. The roads are death traps.. funny how those same councils are so bothered about speeding on warm dry grippy roads in the summer.. GATSO's everywhere?? Tax anyone??!!! But they are quite happy for out of control trucks mounting pavements at 20mph on snow and ice and potentially killing kids in the winter cause the roads are COVERED IN FUCKING SNOW!!!!!!!

Rant over....

This suits rags more i think.
They also have a good few injuries but they will have a weeks break between each game as their not in FA Cup.
Also this must be very good news to Scunthorpe. Each leg a few days either side of our match with them.

I havent seen a snowplough on the city roads at all this year and I think only one gritter.

NEW DATES 19TH & 27TH - ITK

The home leg is 19th Jan at 7.45pm
the away leg is 27th Jan at 8pm

The Stoke game will now be postponed to a later date.

From very reliable source at club.

It's annoying and dissapointing but I fail to see what the council can do about snow this deep when we don't have the equipment to deal with it, we don't usually have this much snow and it's a one off. If the governement invested in snow road trucker things people would whinge that their taxes are being wasted on shite...

Also, we may have a few additions and players back from injury by the 19th. Not the end of the world.

First leg Jan 19th, Second leg Jan 27th.

Fucking utterly useless council.

Not official yet. Footnote on OS so don't book trains/flights etc yet.

We apologise for the delay on this story reaching the site, but this was through technical difficulties not of our own making. We can confirm that January 19th and January 27th are under discussion as the new dates for the home and away legs, but these are yet to be confirmed by the football authorities.

Agreed, plus we won't have to endure the rag backlash, and if the dates are correct aren't the rags away at Arsenal the previous Saturday/ Sunday and I think they will have AC Milan the following week. Toure might also be back in time for 2nd leg. We have more injuries than they have and this delay will suit us more than it suits them chuffed to bits, let it snow let it snow let it snow.

Just been updated on OS.

The Premier League match at Stoke City will now be re-arranged.

Yes but they play the Arse away on the sunday after the second leg. Not sure they will risk starting their main men against us as their priority will surely be to win at the emirates in the race for the title.
