And that's when they get Champions League money. If Liverpool miss out they are royally fucked.

this is the big hitter for the top 4,a lot of there revenue comes from the champs league and if they aint hitting the top 4 then they will be fooked!

the financing bit won't hurt the big four one little bit. they always pay their creditors, by hook or by crook. you really think scudamore would have wanted to (let alone been able to) handicap Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool?

That's the thing. The Prem will personally check if THEY think the clubs can legitimately pay off their creditors. No "oh, we're refinancing that loan down the line at some point", no "well we can give them 80% of our ticket sales". It's all got to be accountable.

you seem to be expecting independent oversight, strict legislation and rigorous enforcement, but the premier league is run by, and for, these same clubs. every rule, the make up of the committees, what powers they have, every single decision those committees make will be politicised, and the big four are the ones with the political clout.

Goalkeepers

* Joe Hart (ENG)
* Stuart Taylor (ENG)

Defenders

* Joleon Lescott (ENG)
* Wayne Bridge (ENG)
* Shaleum Logan (ENG)
* Nedum Onuoha (ENG)
* Micah Richards (ENG)

Midfielders

* Gareth Barry (ENG)
* Michael Johnson (ENG)
* Shaun Wright-Phillips (ENG)

Strikers
* Craig Bellamy (WAL)

11 players currently in the squad of 25 so we are well inside those limits already even without the fringe academy players. English / Welsh prem quality players = very valuable now.

Wouldn't it only be Logan, Richards, Onouha, Ireland, Johnson, Weiss and SWP count as they have been here for 3 years before 21.

isnt weiss from slovenia?

SSN said we had 14 players who currently qualified in our squad, I'd suggest it's 9 of those listed above (Logan and Hart probably don't count as they are out on loan and as such part of someone elses squad at this point). Given will count surely, Ireland definitely counts as one. "Home Grown" isn't related to nationality in any way, it's just based on length of time at an English club prior to age 21.

Not to sure if Given counts, someone mentioned in a previous post that he misses out by a couple of months.

Correct, Given was born in April 76, he was at Celtic as a youth (Scottish clubs are outside our homegrown remit) and moved to Blackburn in the Summer of 94 which would be just (and I mean just) after his 18th birthday, and therefore he could not do the full 3 years between 18 and 21 at a "Homegrown" club !

But I'm right about Ireland though, surely?

Etuhu would be another one, assuming he returns to City and isn't sold.
