I'd like to defend Balo but, looking at the incident objectively, you can't; for a nano-second he lashes out because he's getting frustrated at Parker's constant nagging and physical presence (he's done much the same when he was booked moments earlier). His reaction immediately afterwards -he quickly looks for Webb's whereabouts - evidences that he wanted to "send a message" to the Spur's player.

Anyone who's played the game at any level will admit to having done the same.

City are in the media gold-fish bowl now. It's the price of where we are. There's no way in a million years that the FA would fail to bring a charge here. Everything about City is big news and the FA will not want one of the stellar English clubs to be setting a bad example in the on-field/off-field behaviour stakes. If that's unfair, then so be it; it's the price of our "success".

My view is that the Club will accept the charge. The issue is how clever we can be in exploiting the appeal/disciplinary process in order to hedge the downside of Balo's 4-game ineligibility. If we contest the charge he can play against 'Pool, but we run the risk that he gets penalised for a frivolous appeal and they ban him for another game. Since our next three fixtures after Pool are Everton, Fulham and Villa, I think the club shold accept the charge today and stand him down immediately. In some ways, removing him from the "cauldron" of Anfield is advisable.

Final comment; the club need to get some serious life-coaches in to work with Mario and rid him of this "red mist" tendancy. You can still be aggressive and powerful, but you've got to be clever with it. At the moment Balo sometimes acts on the field as if he's under 5!

spot on - the lad needs to grow up and realise that if he is ever going to be truly world class he needs to calm down a touch and not get so angry.
Just do not see why Mancini has not been able to make the lad realise just what a talent he really has and if he wants to become a super star the red mist is something he has to get rid of.

Re: SSN Right Now - Balo Charged By FA

I wouldn't bother appealing. If itmeans he misses the Liverpool game so be it as they know they can 'get at him' so to speak.
Look at Balotelli's reaction to Adam's pat on the head, over the top. Players do it all the time in a 'sorry mate' sort of way or as a provocation.

They will target him if he plays and then he runs the risk of being sent off again. Look at the hounding from the Liverpool players at Anfield, done before they will do it again. Take the ban and move on.

Spot fucking on!

Why was nothing done about Evra's deliberate elbow to Micah's face? the ref clearly didn't see it but where was the public outcry to get the twat banned? Oh sorry forgot, he plays in red.

Meanwhile, Pepe gets let off his much worse stamp.

Balotelli's stamp is indefensible and no one should try to defend it.

I have watched all the incidents posted up to compare - a number of Rooney's elbows, a karate kick by Rooney, stamp by Elmander - and I've got to say Balotelli's is up there with the worst of them. It is much worse than Pepe's stamp.

This is because Balotelli could not see what he was doing. He was lashing out blind and could have done serious damage to Parker. Suppose he had crushed an eye? In most incidents the player committing the violence can see what he is doing and is out to hurt; but there is a degree of control stopping short of serious injury.

I'm a City fan but I'm a football fan 1st. If you condemn a rag player for violence you have to do the same with a City player. Balotelli has to be taught not to do this. He ought to get a ban long enough to make him realise such behaviour will not be tolerated. Mancini ought to rip into him and spell it out to him. Cut this kind of shit out or fuck off.
