Would be great if true.I think football in this country have uncovered the tip of an iceberg in terms of getting fans into stadiums. We still have thousands of fans of all teams that would go to a game at the last minute if they could.Transport isues, getting your hands on a ticket, security[home and away fans]have all played a part in keeping fans away. But we now have the technology. We do not require all tickets to come from the stadium. We could sell tickets at many outlets like the lottery machines.A coach layed on with the price.I don;t think we will have a prob filling a 75k stadium.

Danny Wilson told us this at our supporters Club meeting in May. The use of the tram will be free with your match ticket
THIS IS THE GERMAN WAY free public transport included in your match ticket and drop the price to £15 fill any size every week and the revenue could come from sales of beer and spending in the club shop etc

extra 12000 either end and down another 4 rows all the way round for the rest
How could they possibly put an extra 12,000 on each end? Just think about it. The ends don't even hold 12,000 at the moment, so you're suggesting they more than double the current stand capacity by adding another tier? That simply isn't possible.

You might be able to get an extra 6k at the very most at each end and that would be a HUGE job in terms of time, effort and money. And digging down (even just 4 rows) would take even more time, effort, and money. I don't envisage either of these things ever happening; it just isn't worth it.

And if the owners really have set 400m aside, they may as well build their very own brand new super-stadium from scratch.

When this stadium was first built it was said at the time that is designed with the possibility of extending to 60k. And as you say 6k at both ends gives you that without even digging down, etc.

The intriuging thing is the land we have supposedly bid for or bought across the road at the Clayton analine site. It's as big if not slightly bigger than the existing Sportcity site and maybe if they don't get the desired deal for COMS then they might as well spend £400m on a brand new stadium.

Pity they couldn't build one on the old Maine Road site but I'm just a sentimental old softie.

If there's a Tramline to the ground it will be dug up every 5 minutes and buses and cars will not be able to get to the ground along that route

That's going off what's happened to the Trams in the City Centre. Not reliable enough

So you think that the Metrolink will be free if you have a match ticket?? Not a chance in this world.

That is the proposal which City are wanting to instigate. Twelve months and 10 days ago if I'd told you that we would sign Robinho you'd have said the same!

The work being done at the moment is to upgrade tracks to allow more, newer trams along with prep work for the new lines. Once it's built they won't need to start digging it up again for many years.

I dont want to be a stick in the mud ...BUT ..why expand the stadium when the club couldnt sell out most of last season when tickets were on sale for a fiver?

Free tram ride with match ticket - brilliant plan with city. With the improvements in the tram line, dont see the problem with it.
