And more pointedly an unprecedented crowd for a home FA Cup 3rd round tie. 2 or 3 years ago we'd be getting 28 to 30k for such a game

Yes. Too reliant on the seasoncard loyalists, and if they don't turn up (and they often don't because they've already shelled out £500) there wasn't enough to take their place

Now the fan base has grown, but if we get through against Watford and get another home draw we need to keep the prices low and ensure a full house

Feel lucky to have been seen a view of this whole thing, stadium, the surrounding areas last 24 hours.

All I can say is incredible. The area will make the Yas Marina look like a high rise in Hulme.

Any clues on what is on the surrounding areas?

Phase 3-5 most likely?

If Phase 2 is stadium and collar site as GXCity suggested.

I had a poster, from a match program from Franny Lee's days as Chairman, of a re-built Maine Rd which was a new-Kippax Stand built all the way around the ground.

The most ridiculous development of the old Maine Rd was the replacement of the old Platt Lane which I think held 9,000 with a new stand holding 5,500.

That's some statement Tolmie...Yas Marina is pretty special looking.
Does it make up for your disappointment on the relatively functional nature of the training complex design?

Although I'm not asking you to give anything away, where there any clues (from the plans you viewed) as to the nature of the 'anchor' lesiure tenant?
And does the stadium lookin particualarly different or is it merely an expansion to the north and south (and possible new roof)?

BTW - did you track GXCity down and ply him with Magners to get this info...? :)

Both the Platt Lane and new Kippax were total botch jobs, such big structures for so few seats.
