Star Wars Trailer (New One Released - Page 7)

Just had a look at how they're going to handle this run up to The Force Awakens as a publishing run, and it seems that they'll cover the period between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens in a series of books/comics all released before the film numbering around 20 in all.

Most of them will either be kiddy shite or comics which I tend not to bother with, but they're releasing a trilogy of adult novels which I'll get.

Can you tell us in this thread what happens in these novels when you bomb through them please? :)

Underwhelmed.

How many 'original' Star Wars things can we cram into one trailer to make it so all the old fans go mad?

Mission accomplished, it seems.

It's a teaser trailer.

The point is to tease the fans and whip up excitement for the film....

The trailer when it is released will be long and focus more on showing off the plot of the film. But to be fair it is a Star Wars film, and it set 30 years after the original trilogy so iconic imagery is just part of their Universe. It's a testament to how big Star Wars is that the normal every day objects in their lore are hugely iconic and it seems cliche.

On another note, Carrie Fisher is on the Star Wars Celebration Livestream and time seems to have punched her in the face repeatedly.

Still comes across as charming and lovely as ever though. She plays quite a vital role in the new trilogy unlike some of the older cast, so her health (both physical and mental) really needs to hold up to go through another gruelling process. They should be starting pre-production on the sequel to The Force Awakens to get it out for Summer 2017 so she'll be straight back to work this winter

was reading that Disney are pulling out the stops to get fox to give them the video rights to the original trilogy and prevquals so they can get them available on streaming sites like Netflix and amazon to get maximum avaialability in the run up to december

Yeah there's a few issues around that.

The original Star Wars "A New Hope" is actually owned by Fox forever. When Lucas went to them for funding, he was seen as a risky proposition so they basically asked for a bunch of clauses that would protect their investment. As they didn't really believe in the film or it's success (instead seeing it as a "passion project" for Lucas that will probably break even and then allow them to get him working on some of their stuff), they allowed Lucas to purchase the merchandising and sequel distribution rights.

So as it stands, A New Hope is owned by Fox forever and ever amen. Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi however are owned by Lucasfilm who have leased the rights to Fox until 2020 where they will now revert back to LucasFilm ownership under the Disney banner.

As you can see, this will now complicate any future releases for the original trilogy. Luckily for Star Wars fans there are currently 29 different versions of the original trilogy already released by Lucas so nobody will be going short.
