Star Wars VIII: The Last Jedi

Not quite. End of R1 Vader enters the ship that Leia WAS on. She's already jettisoned on the smaller ship. Remember Vader standing on the empty docking bay at the very end? Between R1 and ANH Vaders ship must've caught up with Leias new ship then it goes into ANH where we see it being docked into Vaders battlecruiser or whatever it was. It was in this time between R1 and ANH that Leias message was put into r2d2

Edit....actually she put the plans into r2 when Vaders men were " tearing the ship apart". Neverthless im pretty sure she jumped ship at the end of r1
In ANH Vader picks some one up and chokes them to death just because he didnt by start throwing lightsaber moves out I think it can flow with R1

So the book of art for TLJ has revealed the main plot of luke/rey and the idea of tge jedi temple amongst otger things are all from Lucas original idea for episode 7 before he sold the rights to disney and JJ binned his vision.

Looks like Johnson revisited Lucas vision and used some of it, wouldn't this make TLJ more of a star wars film than people are giving it credit.

Actually watch them back again. The Vader scene in Rogue One is so out of kilter with a New Hope.

Non withstanding the fact that in Rogue One Vader force grabs and throws everyone and everything, aside from the actual Death Star plans held in old mates hand. Mustn't have been that important after all...

I was reply to someone saying Rogue 1 final scene goes immediately into New Hope opening scene. Which it doesn't.

According to canon ANH is about 10 mins after R1

If you take tbe fact the plans have just been stolen and are not yet on the Tantive and the empire trying to prevent them getting to the Rebel ship, then Vaders end scene being violent seems completely in kilter with his then calmer demeaner once the ship is captured and plans apparently secured.

This is true.

IMO Rogue One is the only other film that’s come close to the originals, I thought it was mint and genuinely felt like Star Wars, which none others have since the 90’s.

Why didn't he force grab the plans from the guys hand? He does it to their guns (in fact force grabs a heap of guns), why is holding plans any different?

Lazy storytelling, thats why. Due to shoehorning in a scene purely for fan service.

Because this was a prequel written after ANH and thus that cannot happen or it would put the timeline and story out of kilter.

Vader arives as they are leaving with the plans to lead the ending of tge film into the begining of ANH so necessary to link the films, would have been stupid to not have it.

No. It would be stupid to shoehorn a scene where he literally has the plans in his grasp and for whatever reason does not use the force to grab them after literally showing the audience that he can just do that!

You can't have it both ways. You can't justify his lightsaber wielding "badass-ery" saying he is angry and desperate to get the plans, and then excuse him for not actually doing it when he has the chance. They're literally right there! Why go on a rampage and then not actually secure them? That's why the scene is so disjointed.

There could have been a myriad of ways of having a Vader cameo at the end of Rogue One to segue into a New Hope. Having the scene that they chose completely betrays the tone set at the start of a New Hope, and moreover is completely flawed from a basic storytelling premise as it doesn't add up.

They’re either just out of reach or he’s dealing with lasers being fired at him when they’re in reach, I feel you’re nitpicking.
