You can get a set for around 400 quid at those American Golf plac

A set of Callaway arnt that cheep, especially 11 piece
There's a cracking set of Callaway's including Woods at Costco £400 and something.

There the ones I bought :)....11 piece, £399 plus Vat which was around £489 or something. The rest of the stuff I got from American Golf

The best game in the world, I play 3 times a week and would play more given the chance.

I love new golfers

All the gear, no idea

Played at Hooton in Ellesmere Port once and there was a guy who looked like Payne Stewart, plus fours, lovely bag and clubs and I had a cheapo set of Hippo's

I hit mine right down the middle, he probably got a fine for failing to get past the ladies tee.....

It's a great game mind, £800 well invested

if you do take to it one piece of advice I would strongly urge you to take is to get a few lessons with a pro' you won't regret it,
The only advise I would give,is take no notice of this advise......

If you can hit the ball properly ,and you are happy with your swing and your game...leave it as it is.......I know two people who,at age 21 and 23 and were IMO good players, but wanted to get bit better.. had 6 lessons each with a club pro....18 months down the line both of them don't play anymore......All that will happen with lessons is,he will tell you all the things that you are doing wrong, and trust me there will be lots of things wrong, you will be lucky if you can hit a ball straight again....

Golfers today cant go for a dump without having some kind of Guru hanging
over there shoulder....they are all as mad a as box of frogs, superstitous
beyond belief, look at Harrington and that thing he puts under his foot....
crackers the lot of them

Golf is about getting out of the house for a few hours, and having a laugh as well, just enjoy it.. and don't over complicate it.

Good luck OP, been playing 25 yrs but not been a club member for the last 5 yrs. If you don't take to it ,give me a shout I need some new clubs/woods . Still using 20yr old McGregors & Ping wood/woods.
My advise is take a few lessons , grip, stance, ball position, so important.
