Steaua Bucharest post-match thread

Well that was awful... for Steaua Bucharest!

Great performances all around. Another huge performance from Sterling. I especially liked how comfortable Zaba looked playing centrally in the "false fullback" role.

Things will only get better with players returning from injury and with the signing of Bravo.

For me one of the best things about last night was Pep's post match comment saying the he will not have Otamendi going to ground again. Halleluiah!!! Less than one game and Pep nails it!!
Wow, missed that but that's totally brilliant. Otters seems like he could be a very good defender but then he goes and spoils it all by constantly diving in.

Pep's tactics are fascinating, he has somehow liberated our midfield and given it the freedom it needed to really thrive. We seriously could of scored 10 last night and I felt embarassed when we attacked because we looked like scoring every single time. We managed to miss 2 penalties and a ton of other chances yet still won 5-0.....It was like playing Fifa against someone who has never played before.

Other teams have to think now can they afford to play a high pressing game against us because they will always get outnumbered in midfield and any mistakes risk leaving a 4v4, 5v5 against people like Aguero and KDB. I have been surprised really with Pep because I always thought he was more conservative defensively but now it seems his tactics and setup ARE our defence. It seems to be a case now of attack us if you dare.
That's it. They can't attack of they don't have the ball, and if we can build up play slowly from the back, their chance of getting the ball is pretty small.

Did he really say this or is it a Clarkie ?

I saw a report that he went on the pitch & bollocked him at half time, & poked him in the ribs !
Edit, just seen your other reply, never mind ;)

Regardless of the oposition it was a great performance by the team which could easily a finished double figures.
The movement & link up play was mouth watering at times especially the interchange leading up to the fourth goal.
This was a million miles away from what we witnessed last season & with the new boys still to come into the team then this season could be special.
My only concern was Willy who's simply not good enough to pass out under pressure & surly a new Keeper is a prority.
One other good point was Otamendi who slotted in well with Stones at the back but i'm sure they'll have more defencive rolls to play against Stoke this weekend.
