Steaua Bucharest post-match thread

Some on here have to think about their comments about City defender's accuracy not being good enough.
Kolarov is a bit slow on the wing but his touch is decent!
Zab, Clichy, Fernando all good enough for Pep's possession style.

Silva could be a bit sharper around the box.
But hey, the learning curve in the team seems to go up quite steep.

PL teams will try to do the doubledecker against us or they get steauad... :)

Opposition bad? who knows we didn't allow them to be good We were even pressing their keeper in the 90th minute. It's like night and day the difference between last season and this. The whole team defends and attacks together Well done to the team on and off the pitch

Incredible performance. The fourth goal was unreal. I'm hoping a lot of people have to eat their words about our Raheem.

My biggest concern is depth behind Fernandhino. Can Gunogan play that hybrid DCM/CB position? Because right now hes crucial to how our team plays, and irreplaceable by any of the current roster. I think Fernando lacks the link up play to pull it off.

You worry too much. Just sit back and enjoy. There's fuck all we can do about it ;-)

I bet Christmas is fun in your house !

Eh...you miss the bit where i said we were fantastic clearly..or are u just a keyboard warrior?

There was clearly elements of sloppy play...few misplaced passes needlessly and some players still not completely match fit.

Like i also said...some beautiful football played as well.

They may have been poor but that was fucking brilliant to watch, 5-0 and we really could have had 5 more. Role on the weekend.

Kolarov looks a different player. Sterling has been given a new leash of life, excellent tonight. Nolito made £13.8 million look like a bargain. Aguero deserves enormous credit for recovering from two penalty misses. Silva was great, always nice to see him score. De Bruyne's pass for Nolito's goal was pure class. Fernando and Fernandinho both defensively solid. Stones had a quiet game which is the biggest praise you can give a CB, looked right at home coming into midfield. Otamendi also looked very comfortable when it came to passing. Would've liked to see Iheanacho and Navas- think it would've been seven or eight if they'd had twenty minutes against that slow defence- but understand why they didn't come on.

Looking back now it seems weird to think we were ever worried.

Considering how sparse our pre-season was, I was seriously concerned we'd be well behind Steau in terms of match readiness. It showed in the first couple of minutes, wow after that then it became easily one of the best early round European away performances , like a training match, Sterling looking great, De-Bruyne on song, and Sergio well and truly finding his Mojo.

Having to play the qualifier may well be a blessing in disguise..... the confidence boost after a performance like cant be underestimated - The classic Stoke away post Euro midweek challenge to follow.. (current forecast heavy showers 15 mph winds...).

Difficult night for them ...

means ... Dynamo only !!!

ands its worst even if Kun could scored 10 !!!

Wow what Pep has achieved already. Maybe he is not so bad with his decisions after all.
Great to see Raheem that way.
Very delighted to see Jones doing so well. Brilliant signing.
I never doubted Nolito would be a superb deal as well. What a workrate up to the very end. A true street footballer.
I thought Jones played well, too.
