anyone else find it remarkable that a country with less than 700,000 citizens and is roughly just 5,000 square miles is apparently the 16th best footballing nation in the world?

The country that was Yugoslavia is just one of those areas that seems to produce sporting talent (especially in football + to a lesser extent tennis)

Yugoslavia never really achieved what they should have done because of all the internal bitching + in-fighting...but they weren't dubbed the "Brazil" of europe for nothing.
Imagine the team you could pick now from the best of Croatia / Serbia / Bosnia / Montenegro etc.

Anyone remember Dejan Savicevic? What a player he was. Red Star and Partizan used to churn out quality players constantly like Ajax, Barca, etc., seems like they're still developing some good players but not as regularly.

Heh. I can't really make out if you're aware of the fact that jokes about the Montenegrins being the most laid-back (read: lazy) people in former Yugoslavia are very common.

Rumour say that someone is gonig to have a medical tomorrow? Is Savic already on a plane to manchester for a medical like someone already said?
