Stefan Savic

Very interesting if true, graham. Especially with the links this morning also with the French kid. Cheers. Looks like some longer-term strategy going on.
Looks like Boateng is definitely on his bike if this comes off. Not sure where it would leave the rumoured Vertonghen/Cahill deals either.
Also, with Kolo back in September, is Boyata going out on loan, maybe to Everton if we go for Baines?

Speaking of Montenegro, what's happening with their star man, you know the bloke who was out injured last season but was one of the best prospects in Europe before that? I've watched him loads but can't remember his name. Plays in Italy.

Anyone know who I mean? He's a superb player & imo would be close to the top of the list for possible signings if he'd been playing last season.

Was wondering if he's fully fit yet, because Mancini, being an Italian, will know how good he is.

Stevan Jovetic is your man. Seems to be highly rated but I've not seen much of him personally.

Cheers both for reminding me, just spotted the replies now. Jovetic it was indeed. I recon he would have been right up Mancini's street & high on our list if he hadn't been injured throughout last season. Fantastic player.

"No Secret - Stefan Savic will be Manchester City player, but not until January, when it acquires a license for the Premier League! Clubs and players have signed pre-contract, although in Hum strongly deny this claim."

Both Rome and Porto have offered more money, but the player has decided to sign for City.

hopefully in another season this will be the norm!

He really talks this player up, no doubt he will become a better player than Vidic.

Haha regardless of how good a prospect the lad is, there is every single doubt he will become as good as one of the best centre halves in the world.

Never seen the lad play but if he's big, strong, quick and an established international at the tender age of 20 then the signs look good. Anyone know why his transfer to Arsenal fell through?

Speaking to homeland publication Blic online, Savic said: 'There were offers from Tottenham and Birmingham City, but once a call came from Arsenal, I had no more doubts.

'Arsene Wenger made sure my papers were arranged for and my work permit extended so I can be at more training sessions.

'A pre-contract will be signed on Thursday and then I will return to Belgrade and join BSK for their preparations. I will be staying with BSK until May.'

'I was on the terraces and it must have been hard for the lads on the pitch,' Savic said. 'United had a terrific game, especially Nani.

'Wenger was extremely mad during the training session on Monday. This defeat means the league title will be extremely hard to reach right now.'

The player added: 'Wenger is the man. He has incredible authority at the club – everyone listens to him, assistants lead training sessions and he just supervises. Nothing can escape him.'

Possibly due to his work permit, we could have a similar problem.
