Say what ?? trev you winding us up ?
No, not winding you up. Bunch of 'em just burst into COMS and carried him out in a massive bag.

Lol, SSN are saying £6m and signed. That is an absolute bargain. I thought at least £10m
They're saying it's done and dusted now? I'm still stuck in work (working very hard as you can tell), so can't see SSN.

Looks like it won't be announced till Work Permit is sorted out .
Who told you this?

Just makes sense. When will the work permit appeal committee meet, next?

Yes this ... Don't know when they are meeting ..,but if everything was sorted it would have been announced by now .
We know he was at CoMS , so he has signed the papers most probably.

But if there is a risk he wouldn't get a work permit now....why would he have undergone a medical and paperwork etc...?

The interest in Vertonghen seems to be completely gone. He will not arrive.

As for Boateng..i dunno, probably off to Bayern.

Correct!

Savic overtook Vertonghen in the last week or so. Vertonghen was lined up for 1st July but Savic proved to be the better buy in Mancini's eye

Yeah....i think Savic is the kind of player he wants alongside Kompany.

Savic is a few inches from Kompany in lenght but he is quick and fast for a defender. Still pretty good in the air.

He might have seen Vertonghen as too slow and clumsy? And Savic is descreibed as a commanding centre-half.

I think he will fit in well. And huge potential at that age.

Are these statements of opinion or fact? I haven't seen anything to suggest we are not interested in Vertonghen.

Did you just describe Vertonghen as clumsy?

I remember reading up on work permits and how they work on transfer deadline day etc.

Think it costs about £80 to apply for a permit, it can take weeks to come back

You can fast track it for about £180 and it takes a few days or you can get it the same day/next day for £500

Clubs usually fast track them unless it's deadline day.

All the reports coming out of Ajax is that he is staying this year. So if thats not enough, I cant help you.

Does this mean we aren't going for Vertonghen? Or has that down to Boateng staying or leaving?
I think this might be Boateng's replacement.

Vertonghen doesn't look like he's coming irregardless of whether Boateng stays or goes.

Manchester City & Arsenal target Jan Vertonghen: I will be at Ajax next year
The Belgium international appeared to be on his way to the Premier League, but now seems happy to remain at the Amsterdam Arena for another season

Defender Jan Vertonghen has made it clear that he is ready to remain at Ajax for another season as the prospect of playing Champions League football with the Dutch titleholders is at the forefront of his thoughts.

The 24-year-old centre-back has been linked with clubs such as Arsenal and Manchester City and a move to the Premier League appeared to be close last month.

However, neither of the English sides have followed up their initial advances, and Vertonghen seems happy to stay put.

"The way things stand at the moment I will stay with Ajax for another year. I'm fully focused on Ajax. I really wanted to play Champions League football again and it's a huge plus that it's possible here," the Belgian said on the club's website.

"At present there's no reason to leave. I want to win the Eredivisie title again here. I think we have a very strong selection, very balanced. We have at least two good players for every position. Additionally, we've signed some promising youngsters."

Vertonghen has a contract until the summer of 2013 with the Eredivisie champions and an offer in the region of €15 million could be needed to lure him away from Amsterdam, should the Premier League sides reignite their interest.

BREAKING NEWS- He has completed medical and signed but WP is needed to complete it. 100% he will get it because he is a regular.
QUICK! SEND THIS GUY SPAM & VIRUSES!!!

lol, but seriously, I'd change that username if I were you... If you can?

Or just close the account and open a new one up... LOL.

I think this will be a great signing. Young, cheap, lots of potential. He could be a first team player for many years to come. If not, it's not a huge loss, only cheap and will have plenty of resell value.
