Sterling and the hate he gets

Serious numbers? really?

290 Games
96 Goals
51 Assists

the guy is unreal
Absolutely, his assist and goal return is good but it could and should be incredible. He's registering a goal every third game and an assist every 6th game in a City team which averages between 3 and 4 goals per game in all competitions. It could and should be much higher, I'm not criticising him I'm saying he has the potential for much more.
We as a fan base need to stop being so touchy when discussing Raheem, he's brilliant but could be better, that's not slagging him, that's the reality

The guy is not a natural finisher and ball striking is by far the weakest part of his game but it does not give an excuse to destroy the man.

He signed for big money at the time and a transfer that put him under at lot of pressure, after a slow start, he has done brilliantly, frustrating at times yes, but never once has he hidden or gone missing.

When you see the start he had in life, his achievements are remarkable.

Definitely not a natural finisher, he's improved but still room for improvement
I'm not destroying the man, I'm offering constructive criticism / analysis of his ability, his ceiling is higher than almost all others.

The money he signed for shouldn't matter and doesn't imho
I prefer him and always have to Leroy
I agree his achievements are fantastic, I just want more from and for him, as I'm sure he does knowing how much of a driven character he is.
We'll always disagree on the diving, I'm very much club over country and anything I see having detrimental affect on his City performances/ referee decisions I will flag and won't be bullied out of my opinion

fantastic memory there mate! Curle was defo misused and made a bit of a scape goat.

I remember being absolutely buzzing in School that a City player was in the England team!

Same here. We never had much to shout about in those days, so being called up by England and competing in the Rumbelow soccer sprint challenge were the closest thing we had to success.

Sadly for Curle, if memory serves me correct, he was up against Brian Laudrup which would have challenged even the best right back. The abiding memory is Curle shirt pulling constantly in desperation.

Yeah me too, listened to his first two games on the radio, think Platt scored, obviously Denmark was on telly.

The last time I saw him play he was left back at Maine Road, think it must have been SU. Was gutted he got knocked out the Rumbalows sprint challenge ant Wembley before the televised final.
That was our only chance of a wembley win when he got knocked out. Would fancy Walker's chances if they reintroduced it.

I really hope he has a great game. Not just for the nation but for himself. He was not at his best last season but has a shown a wonderful strength of character to remain focused and back his own ability. Boo me now, Fuckers.
