Carragher spouting off on Sky whilst accepting he was part of the vocal lynch mob who publicly vilified Sterling for daring to leave Liverpool which then had a snowball effect and was a baton picked up across the nation to beat him with at every available opportunity. You sowed the germ of hatred, Carragher. Hopefully you take your journalistic responsibilities more seriously next time.

What angered me at the time, was that not once did Hodgson come out and publicly defend Sterling. The only high profile person that did was Guardiola, when he sent him that text just after he arrived at City. Euro 2016 for England was a shameful affair; dinosaur manager, and awful fans, I was actually happy Iceland knocked us out, the manager and fans deserved nothing.
