What angered me at the time, was that not once did Hodgson come out and publicly defend Sterling. The only high profile person that did was Guardiola, when he sent him that text just after he arrived at City. Euro 2016 for England was a shameful affair; dinosaur manager, and awful fans, I was actually happy Iceland knocked us out, the manager and fans deserved nothing.

Absolutely they should apologise especially the copy editors who write the headlines along with every fan who gave him a low mark on the bbc when he was clearly excellent.
