Does this scenario make sense?

Get Negredo and Jojo, and keep Dzeko and, of course, Kun. Loan Guidetti out again assuming he's fit.

Next season, Dzeko will have one year left on his deal. Sell him on then (assuming all perform well) and bring Guidetti in full-time.

who are milan buying this summer pal ??? any big signings going on in serie a

lots of selling off fodder players.

bought Poli already. Ljajic from FIO and Honda seem to be in the bag, and just awaiting "official"

Then hopefully one solid CB or another mid

United making a last ditch attempt to scupper the deal

HAHAHAHAHA

I am not laughing yet but this is probably too far gone for them to influence the deal imho.

just takes a higher bid to mess the deal up.
this is the part of negotiations I hate most. I usually get high blood pressure and sick stomach

True but if the United try and scupper the deal then City can find of ways of getting even with them.

Because of his height (6 feet tall), technical ability, and ability to squeeze the ball in the corners from ridiculous angles, I always thought he'd be end up like RVP eventually in his career.

Jovetic always looked good at striker and I reckon he may feature there for us sometimes in addition to the left.

Sort of like Balo, but better versatility wise.

poli ??? seems like your are buying some good players, but are a lot weaker compared to a couple of years ago. Looks like juve are the strongest team right now with who they have bought

Yeah, for some reason I can't see us signing both Negredo and Jovetic...

We are buying high upside, lower cost players. We are in the starting phases of a youth movement that Im actually pretty excited about it.

Loads of young talent, who are outperforming most kida at the same age group - balotelli, de sciglio, el shaarawy, niang, cristante, (mastour, tho still too young), and now poli and ljajic.

2-3yrs from now, Id be very surprised if Milan werent huge CL contenders again and on top of the league

its good to see milan starting to bring through their own youth players, especially italian ones. Seems the right way to go and I hope we start doing it with our own english players. Keep updating about milan mate and italian football, good to hear some different opinions

Very odd that FIO, after a great season, is going to do so much renovating.

Gomez in.

Ljajic is almsot signed for Milan, and Jovetic almost signed for you.

Pinning a lot of hope of Gomez, Rossi and Ilicic (who is on his way in for Ljajic)

Mind you, that's still a phenomenal attack if firing on all cylinders.

As an avid watcher of Serie A, what do you make of Jovetic? What are his strengths and weaknesses, who would you compare him to etc?

He's fucking boss. His strengths are his dribbling, his movement, his vision, his link up. His weaknesses are perhaps his strength. I'd compare him to Van Rapis or Bergkamp. He could come here and get 20 goals and 10 assists or he could get 10 goals and 20 assists.

He could do anything but unless the Premiership is miles behind Serie A, I don't know why we would assume those stats. He's never got near either of them so far with Fiorentina.

RVP and even more surprisingly Bergkamp?! Are you sure? I hope you are right. By the time he signs Messi will not be fit to clean his boots at this rate.

No pressure.

You can search my posts earlier in this thread and I've feeling our apparent bid is an attempt to rush through Negredo.

Hope not, would much rather have Jovetic. If Dzeko is staying Jovetic makes more sense, If Dzeko is going we should be getting both.

I agree about the RVP comparison; he's a sort of Tevez - RVP hybrid. Great technique and work ethic.

Why do people think he has signed? Have I missed something? I have looked at newsnow but all of the stories are about Pelli and Fernandinho.

We are very close to completing a 21m deal according to reports in Italy.

We had meetings with Florentina today.

Thanks. I hope this is true but I will wait before i get excited. The disappointment of Isco still burns strong.

Given we are potentially signing one striker is this guy a striker or an attack midfield player for those who are not fully up to speed with Italian Footie. Because if he is a striker it rather implies either Jovetic or Negredo, if an attack midfielder then it could be both.

He is a wide forward. He is very much just a younger version of Tevez.

Not as selfish, better passer, more technical, not nearly as clinical a finisher (not accounting for Tevez strike rate this year). Not really a like for like replacement imo

@tancredipalmeri: Manchester United have tried a last-minute hijacking of Jovetic deal, according to Sky Italy. Very difficult though, Jovetic close to City
