My point is, even though its about the squad, we should be signing players who at this level are going to improve us (to take us closer to reclaiming the league and doing better in the CL). Signing a player who will be more 'squad' like than coming in and really pushing to be a first choice is not progression

He will give us a better option out left than we currently have thus strengthening the team.

Well Pellegrini just said that we have 2 strikers and are looking for ONE more. So Jovetic or Negredo? Which one?

Jovetic's primary position is not striker, though he can play there.

So, to answer your question, both.

So to replace Nasri then?

Yes, leave Nasri to fight it out with Silva for that central position, where both are at their best.

He can and has played anywhere from striker, left forward, left wing, attacking centre mid...

I don't understand the question your asking tbh mate? Starting player in our system?

He's versatile, doesn't necessarily replace any of our current players

I quite like that!

So who would Jovetic replace as a starting player in that system?

Nasri.

Navas - Silva - Jovetic
--------Aguero---------
That looks class tbh plus with Negredo we will have so many different options.
Agreed on all counts. Honestly having six players rotating at four positions is sensible.

I genuinely feel quite positive about this lad, far better than some of the shit that we've been linked with.

Our biggest problem is lack of depth. Last season we had Sinclair to call on when Nasri was injured, but now we have Navas and potentially Jovetic. Our overall squad will look better for it.

Fiorentina Star Reaches Agreement With Manchester City?

Manchester City have struck a reported agreement with Fiorentina to sign Stevan Jovetic.

The Viola forward has been linked with a move out of Florence for some time, and has been heavily linked to Arsenal and Juventus.

Mediaset report that the English side has offered €32 million for the Montenegrin striker and will now talk to the player regarding a contract in the coming days.

Juventus have been in negotiations with Joveitc for some time, with he player himself has been reported as claiming he wants to “stay in Italy” but the Bianconeri have been unwilling to match Fiorentina’s financial evaluation for their player.

Jovetic appeared 34 times for Fiorentina, scoring 13 times and assisting five.

Pellegrini mentioned we have 2 strikers and need 1 more .....wonder how Giudetti feels watching that unless we have agreed to sell Edin

Maybe they don, t c joevtic as a striker and more ov a wide player?

cue the flappers, 32 million euros!!!! omgggggggggggggggggggggggg

If we have agreed a fee and it is 32 million euros, that's about the right price anyway. If he went to Arsenal or Juventus tomorrow I'd put my house on everyone on here wanting him for way more in a couple of seasons. Throwing around figures like £35/45m and 'Just get it done City!!!!'.

Is his release clause not 30 million euros?
Even if it is, our 32m bid would probably be heavily incentive based, rather than upfront (which I think we'd all prefer)

Massively hope this goes through, he'd be an incredible signing and would fit really nicely into our style
