He has better technique than Tevez, imo.
No he doesn't. Not at all even. Sinclair is a better flair flair than Joevtic.
Just like Silva isn't. Just like Messi isn't.
These players don't need flair. Jovetic gets past you like nothing without the need for fucking stepovers. I've said before, few current players are as good at cutting in the box like Jovetic. He revels in tight spaces.
And Sinclair? You are deluded.
thenabster said:I spent a good part of this night scouting Jovetic and Negredo. On Jovetic, it seems that we'll be paying 27 million pounds for Jovetic which is a lot, too much actually. He is not a central striker as of now. He's still 23 so he could get molded in one but for now he's too inaccurate to be one. Jovetic doesn't have any flair, he's no dribbler and he isn't the fastest player too. He's passing is alright but Silva is a better passer than him as well as Nasri. He really is a support striker or a 10 and that's my problem. We have Aguero in that spot and we won't be paying 27m to bench him. He can't lead the attacking line because he's not clinical and he can't play on the wings because he lacks flair, pace and pretty much always drifts in the middle. This signing is puzzling me especially if we get Negredo as well.
There are several things I like about Jovetic. He has great footballing IQ, he's first touch is great, his turn of pace, his vision etc. There are reasons why people in Italy call him the next Baggio, but he's too slow and lacks Baggio's flair.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that this signing puzzles me a lot. 27m for a support striker, a position we already have filled in is weird.

Players like him, like Messi, I just call forwards.

Silva and Messi aren't joga bonito but are direct dribblers. Messi and Silva will always attempt to dummy a player left or right. When Jovetic gets a ball and doesn't see a teammate he turns his back on the defender or passes backward. That is not technical player to me, that's more of an Inzaghi.

It's an Isco hangover caused almost single handedly by that bloody under 21s tournament. He could actually turn out to be the better signing, no-one knows yet. What is stupid is to fawn over Isco in one breath then completely disregard this lad with the next.
And we've already got our Tevez replacement - We've had him for two seasons now!

I was referring to the part that he has better technique than Tevez. He doesn't if by technique you are referring to dribbling.
A) Didn't he score 27 in 56 games over the past couple seasons.
2) Aguero can't play 60+ games.
III) He's a thoroughly coveted 23 year-old forward sought by various well-respected clubs, 6' tall, not slow, with a good attitude and strong work ethic, and he's handy on the ball. Any chance it's worth having him come aboard and see how the kid fits in?
You can sure as shit sign me up, hope the whole thing pans out.

Yeah I have, a lot actually. If you so sure of what your saying, look for any video or whatever where he does a stepover or anything a Silva or Messi would do.
Jovetic gets a ball and and if he sees a player will turn away from the defender and pass it to the player. He won't attack the defender. If he sees no opening he turns his back to the defender and passes it backwards.
