Steven Ireland - my apology - I was wrong

Ireland, great player I was also not fussed he was on the verge of moving to Sunderland for 5m one seaon on I would sell him for 50m great player holds the key to Citys future that lad.

On the Johnson subjext a friend of mine goes to the 235 casino? in town and said without doubt everytime he goes Johnson is in there betting silly amounts.

He looked a great prospect 2/3 seasons ago but seems to have alot of stuff going on away from the football pitch.

Hope he gets his head together surely he should be back for next season heard he was back in training before the end of the season and was meant to be coming bk with Petrov, can anyone shed some light on this?

I love Superman.

Not only is he a model professional and seemingly downright decent bloke but he's a fucking good player who has a personality. Top class. As long as it doesn't go to his head he can do better every year for the foreseeable future.

It really makes me proud seeing a lad like that wearing our shirt.

To the bloke from Ireland's foundation:

Please convey all of our messages of respect to Stevie. We gave him alot of stick, and instead of whinging about it, he got his head down and worked his bollocks off. Forget the MOM performances nearly every game, just for this alone we love him. He will become one of the top players in the world, mentioned in the same breath as Kaka and Messi if he continues on this path.

We wish him good luck, and will be supporting him all the way.

He's everything that's right about football... Someone who deserves the wage they're paid... Potential still there... Obvious talent in droves... Dedicated...

What a difference a day makes... Well multiply that day by 365 and you have a Stephen Ireland of a difference.

Great post mate. I hope Superman is aware of the fans adoration of him.

Super Stevie - 15+ PL goals next season?

Great post. Guy is a legend even if he is from Cork.....;) Just kidding.

Stephen Hunt has a higher opinion of himself than his agent and his mother put together. That interview on SSN showed him up to be a complete twat. No one likes him, not even the reading fans........................do one Hunt!

The guy is an absolute legend !!!!

Excellent post OP and you have summed up precisely how most of us feel about Stevie.
As you said he is a bit unique, a bit crazy, special, but most importantly he is ours and it would give us all great pride for him to eventually captain the side that brings back some glory and remain a blue for the rest of his career.

It is amazing to think that after the season he has had he is back working hard as ever during his pre-season. A shining example for all of us that wish to better themselves. Indeed a complete opposite to another of our own. I would like to think that the City midfield for years to come could be built around Stevie and MJ but Johnson clearly has a long way and a lot of hard-work and soul searching to go..

Increasingly in the modern era it seems more and more rare you find a hardworking, commited, loyal, honest (white lie here or there) and talented footballer.

Well done Stevie Ireland- you should be proud of yourself you're on your way to becoming a city legend!
