Stockport v Salford is there a difference?

What the hell does matter where anyone is from, if they are City fans I for one couldn't care less where they were born/raised whatever.

Point of order Salford isn't a town it's a City............

The only city in the country without a professional football team!

I can't understand why Utd bang on about Citeh from Stockport etc etc, but have no issue with the fact that loads of their fans are from Salford.
The two towns are very similar in my opinion, both shitholes, both garbage town centres, both shit nightlife, both full of six fingered empty heads who wear clothes a bit out of date and both full of wannabe Mancs!
Is there a difference?

yes with your attitude you`d last about a minute in salford before someone dialed for the ambulance. 5 minutes in stockport

Can't believe your calling salford a shit hole etc when you lived in beswick, what a nob.

I live in salford (little Hulton) and it's mainly red but with a decent amount of blues.

All this silly talk is rather like a bunch of fleas arguing over who owns the dog and what smells better; its arse or its mouth!

It's not where you are from, it's not where you were born, it's not about you job, financial status or the size of your house. It's about what's in your heart and for me that's City.

What is the cock measuring contest about which is the biggest shit hole, Salford and Stockport are about equal in the shit hole stakes as is 90% of greater manchester and lancashire. Drab grey and dirty. Of course there are exceptions but most of them are in South Manchester/ Cheshire (cheadle, bollington, prestbury etc) I grew up in Stockport in the 80's and can safely say it was full to the brim with rags. So to go with the OP I agree, there isn't really much difference in the 2 but even less difference with gtr Manchester as a whole.

Deary me - it's like watching two bald men fighting over a comb.
Clearly you are not a proper blue unless you are the bastard lovechild of Colin Bell and Big Helen, were born in Piccadilly Gardens, lived in the back room of the old souvenir shop on Maine Road, and were fed only on match days on chips from passing Kippax season ticket holders.

There's long been a migration out of Manchester to outlying areas. My dad got a better job and bought a house in Cheadle Hulme. Terraces were knocked down and whole areas cleared in the 70's. People ended up in estates like Wythenshawe and in Stockport and Tameside. A lot of the inner city estates became run down, if you had anything about you, you moved out. A lot of non Mancunians have replaced them. They are more likely to choose and follow the successful team of the moment, which was the rags.

That's me!
And I was christened 'Joe Malcolm Tony Colin....', but, I couldn't get to York away, so I guess I'm not a true blue.
