People tend to forget that Manchester is a conurbation yes there is the City of Manchester but it has swallowed up lots of smaller Boroughs, Manchester is actually the fastest growing City in the UK, as for being a shit hole sure it's got it's bad areas but it's no worse or better than any other major centre of population I have ever visited

I was born in Stockport and now live in Salford.
I must have jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire.
The only thing I agree with the op on is that the town centres are now shit.
There used to be a variety of shops in both town centres,now it's pound shops and cash generator type stores that rule the roost.

I've heard this pathetic row increase more and more of late from united fans to City fans, as well as the attendance digs. It's increased of late due to their relatively poor performance, which in turn will lead to no success this season, compared to us, our form and the success we hope to achieve. Like as if they have nothing left to hit us with other than the Stockport thing and the lack of a full house each game. That's all i had to beat them with when I was in school, the 'you aren't even from manchester' bollocks, because quite simply we were really shit and they were just embarking on Taggart's success. It's a nothing dig though at the end of the day, though I find it funny the adults are now using it from them to us, funny as in it's all they have left.

The two towns are very similar in my opinion, both shitholes, both garbage town centres, both shit nightlife, both full of six fingered empty heads who wear clothes a bit out of date and both full of wannabe Mancs!

Salford is a city as pointed out by another gentlemen in the thread. It achieved this status before Manchester.If you're going to slag a place off in the manner you have done it's important to get your facts right.

Season ticket holder raised in sale although it has always been rag central as long as I have known.

The Racecourse Estate was always Blue when I lived in Sale (admittedly I moved to Whalley Range in 1989)
And if the bloke from Reddish thinks 50% of the crowd comes from Stockport, then 2 pints of whatever he is on please.

The racecourse is City fans... pretty much everywhere else is united. Unless you go to Sale East and Wythenshawe which are more City.
