Stoke away post match thread

If Stoke had won that four or even five-nil, we could have no complaints whatsoever. In fact, if I were a Stoke fan, I'd be quite annoyed about that finishing. The absence of Vinny is no longer an excuse, at least, not for that spineless shambles.
We've got Arsenal and Leicester at their places coming up, and in reality nothing particularly easy. By Boxing Day, we will know whether we're in or out of the title race. The club will keep Pellegrini till the summer. Then he'll be gone.

To soft and naive again.

Where was the game plan and where was plan B ? We have to go to these places and make ourselves hard to beat first and foremost.

No passion from the manager, did he get out of his seat once to encourage and urge the players on ?

Everyone needs to take a long hard look at themselves after that shambles.

A truly terrible performance, there wasn't one redeeming feature from that entire game. Defensively we were awful, creating chances wise we couldn't string together 2 passes, up front Bony was woeful, it was just shite from first whistle to last. Add to that yet another injury and today went about as badly as it could have gone.

Some absolutely shocking performances today, but most worrying was how fucking braindead a lot of our players seem to be. It was clearly too windy to be playing the ball in the air, yet we continued to try and do it for the full 90 minutes, it was as if the players just refused to notice that it wasn't working.

Demichelis should never play for us again, I'd have dragged him off after 15 minutes tbh as Humphreys or Sagna at CB could not have done any worse. Baffling from Pellegrini as well to make like for like subs when it clearly needed a real change.

Something has to give because too many of our players are world class bottle-jobs and only a universally respected manager will now see who can sink or swim.

Embarrassed for Sheik Mansour, having to pay wages to people who throw his good faith back in his face.

Fair play to Stoke today who done their homework on us. Shaqiri, Bojan and Arnautovic were excellent but worryingly we did not look up for it and once again did not score away and lost goals too easy today. You can blame the wind all you want but too many players playing well below the performance expected. If Kompany is going to be injured long term think we need to buy in January someone with proven Premiership experience to shore that defence up.
Pelligrini not sure what he was thinking putting all 3 subs on by 60 odd minutes you always run the risk of going down to 10 men with an injury, not that it would have made any difference today. Pelligrini's tactics again called into question - out thought by Hughes. Our team needs to have better shape and formation to get the balance right between defence and attack and not always rely on the mantra we will score more goals than you mentality to win matches.

Michael Owen football genius: "When City don't score, they hardly ever win."

This is our problem. We need to win more often when we don't score.

That's 90+ minutes of my life I'll never get back. Atrocious, spineless, leaderless - and those were the good points!

See you all on Tuesday night at the Etihad for the next thrilling instalment of "Which City team will turn up tonight?"

I've had more enjoyable shits than that.

Disgraceful performance from everyone involved at the club today.

Everyone needs to take a long hard look at themselves, it was that bad.
I disagree. I thought there was plenty of commitment, unfortunately we ended up chasing the game and were totally undermined by a 34 year old defender whose legs have gone. This happened at home to Liverpool, and it should have been predictable. It's too easy to score against us especially as we are an attacking team. When you attack, you need players who can defend one for one. Demichelis can not

We don't have many options but we do have some....all better than playing Demichelis.

Don't like criticising when we get beat

There are a few players in the squad at the moment who are showing themselves to be way short: Demichelis. And Bony who is playing with zero confidence. The other thing that bothers me is that Silva and De Bruyne are not playing well together. They are each playmakers. Maybe that will come in time. I prefer KDB because he attacks whereas Silva slows everything down checking back all the time.

Delph showed again what a good player he is.

We've got a half fit squad which can't cover all the games we are committed to and today proved that

Sort the medical side out! Costing us
