G star why bother getting involved did it have anything to do with you or are you just being a little woman. Aw I hope you contain your anger at being called a woman x

Have a word with yourself,Drew.
Then have a word with your dealer.
Because that low-grade charlie you're buying is really not doing you any favours.
I hope everyone going tonight has a fab time.

Never been to a gig like this before and I have no intention of doing so. Some of the comments on here suggest you can't take your own booze in, is that right?!

They gave me a pat down. I didn't have anything with me so it wasn't an issue.

Will i have any problems getting a half bottle of bacardi in whats the searching like ???

Shouldnt have trouble mate I was searched but all they did was pat around my waist, hide it ok and you won't have any trouble!

Like people are saying they don't check everyone!

Got into town just before 4pm last night
All of the pubs round shambles refusing to let people in, although a mate was in the Crown & Anchor, which we tried, and he said the place was empty inside

Went on to lloyds bar which was rammed, however got served in 10 minutes and got double beers all round. The place started to empty around 5 ish
Had a bite to eat then met up with some friends. They said taxis were charging £50 to take you to Heaton Park and refusing to use the meter, illegal robbing twats
Same happened at the Oasis gig and came to blows with the driver who didn't think I knew the best route there.

Left after six.
Took the tram from Suedehill, although the inspectors told everyone to go to Vicotoria thirty secs before it arrived. We stayed and pushed into the most rammed tram ever.
Got in the 'arena' for 6.50.

Queues for the beer tent were back to Suedehill, three hundred food tents and only three beer tents, the mad bastards.

Bottled fosters and strongbow, £4 a pop

One of the tents was selling pints, the third one we tried.

Their songs are great, the musicians were superb and you couldn't really hear the singing for the most part as everyone was joining in
The roses music is best for smaller venues when you could get swept up in the moment.
Twenty five years later it had just lost its magic, although my kids loved it.

Left by Exit 1, legged it to Bowker Vale and got on a tram almost immediately after exchanging words with a humourless female copper who was for nicking me for being jolly.

Got home and watched the sick swan before retiring for my beauty sleep

My point is, you should be able to take what you want to a gig like that. No wonder there's aggro at the on site bars if everyone is striving for a few beers, waiting an hour for the privilege.

its more a case of not wanting bottles and cans in there mate....tbf on friday one of the lads with us took 2 bottles of brandy in his rucksack

after about an hour in there a team of security came past and spotted the glass bottle, one of the guys wanted to take it, but his boss came over and tipped it into an empty plastic coke bottle and took the empty glass away

Just to add further to what squirtyflower has said. The Bouncers at the Crown and Anchor could not make there mind up. If you were outside at one stage they would let you in to get a few beers but then refused to let you out to take the order to you mates. At one stage i could see they were not letting people in even though the bar was not even one deep. The other bar was even emptier. After a couple at Lloyds went to get the 135 to heaton park. The Buses around town had been re-directed. A minibus pulled up an quoted us £3.50 to take us to the venue. Once passed the bag searches and couple of cans taken of us could not believe there was only a couple of beer tents but food stalls all over the place with no queues. FARCE. Time to get a beer was between 1-2 hrs! Thought i would give it a miss. Once the gig started i was not dissapointed. Granted i would love to see them in a smaller venue. Left 10 minutes before the end and was back at mine in Astley in a hour
