Stone Roses tonight

It was fucking quality.

If you go to a Roses gig with a music-snobbery about you, with your head up your arse and more concerned about Brown's vocals than enjoying yourself, then you needn't bother.

The 4 of them just work. It worked. And, it sounded fucking brilliant from where I was stood.

Bollocks to the last post you were either pissed out your face or on drugs it was shocking, I think you'll find more reviews like mine than yours. I think you may be young and just want to jump on the roses band wagon. Should have left it 20 years ago!

I went last night, knowing full well Ian Brown is an awful singer!
I was also very aware that the sound wouldn't come across that well in an open park environment!!
That said, I went with a few mates, had a few beers and enjoyed myself!
You could tell some people (mainly middle-class fuckers) were taking the gig (and themselves!) far too serious....trying to be all manc etc!!!
At the end of the day...if your going either sat or sun then you obviously have a slight interest in the Roses so just go and enjoy it : )

Ok, the ground started off ok but was starting to seriously get boggy in places...so either wear a shit pair of trainers/jeans etc which you ain't arsed about...or take your wellies!

They did close the bar (shortly) mainly due to people pushing in/trying to steal beer etc
They did open them back up when the Roses came on though!!
(£4 a beer!!)

Loads of food places (anything you desire really) in their but absolute rip off prices (£4 chips/gravy!!!)

Not as much piss throwing/fighting as seen at Oasis gigs either!

Enjoy ; )
Spot on, same here.

Don't know what some people were or are expecting. Been to enough Ian Brown gigs to know he's not gonna change that voice. The crowd did most of the singing anyway.

It's funny reading reviews/ reactions across the Internet this morning and it's one extreme or the other. Either the best gig ever or utter shite. Hyperbole and platitude overload and lots of lazy journalism.

Check the errors in this one <a class="postlink" href="http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/features/still-mad-for-it-after-all-these-years-stone-roses-return-to-manchester-7900074.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-enter ... 00074.html</a>

Couldn't disagree with the OP any more. Had a fucking blast, was a quality gig.

1 bar for 80'000 people isn't ideal and it did go off for abit because of the lack of a proper queuing system.

Don't get rid of your tickets, get there and enjoy it.

The ground is mushy in parts so wellies is a good idea

Oh no,not the 'middle class fuckers'.
How on earth did they get past security?
I thought everyone was thoroughly checked to ensure they had a working class chip fitted,(on their shoulders)?
You'll have the rich attending gigs soon if you're not careful.
Maybe even multi-millionaires.
Oh,I forgot - they were up on stage.

Benny blue watch your mouth it'll get you in trouble. Your opinion means jack shit as you're a **** x

Oh an call me son again and we'll fall out.

That is fucking woeful. Went to see Ian Brown at Platt Fields and the singing was not a little out of tune... it was TOTALLY out of tune. You can't even sing along at one his gigs, it's that distracting. I decided enough was enough.

Love the band's songs, love the decade or so of clubbing singing along to them.

Live? Never again. This tour smacks of shite. Over priced, no money spent on a decent line-up, no organisation and nothing more than a Glazer style money mission.

Reni's a blue aint he?! No wonder he's walked off stage before.

This is one of the reason's I was worried about getting a ticket.

Also, it was reported that the bars shut because of looting and the threat of a "riot"??

Is that true mate??
