The time keeping is made up every game. Usually it's 1 minute in the first half and 4 minutes in the second half. It doesn't matter how many goals or subs take place.
...but what would they kick around instead? :)I think the ball is only really “in play” for about 60 mins in football. I’d dispense with it altogether tbh
Yet when Bellamy equalised in that infamous swamp Derby we had time added on in stoppage time due to us "over celebrating" and we were told by the commentary team 30 seconds per sub, when have you ever seen additional time added like that since? The time keeping is made up every game. The ref hopefully....but what would they kick around instead? :)

There used to be a provision for specifically extending a half to allow the penalty to be taken and no more. And why is it that, at the end of a game when time is up, the final whistle is only blown when the team in possession has either got in a shot, a cross or lost the ball, when the phase of pay is over to use a rugby term? Surely, if time is up, then time is up...pisses me off.
They have to stick to the TV schedules? We had a match a few weeks ago (can't remember who it was against) when 2 mins were added on at the end. Including all the subs & goals in the 2nd half at 30 seconds each it should have worked out at 7 mins. Didn't matter to us at the time as we were winning but it's another example of officials making it up as they go along (to quote Graeme Souness).
Another thing I've noticed is how often in CL games only 1 minute is added at HT (no matter what) & quite often the whistle is blown before said minute is up.
