Stories of meeting City fans in unusual places

I have a mate who lives in Barcelona, a Blue obviously. He messaged me and said he had been chatting to a tall blonde girl from Manchester in a bar who was a Blue and and all she wanted to do was talk about me :)) Turns out I actually do some work with this girl and I had actually met her dad when we played at the Nou Camp. Not only that but she was also in the bar we went too after the game at Nou Camp and we had actually met before but never put 2+2 together. We have worked together for a few years now and only just realised this. @timoftheoak and his lads were also in the bar after the game, she remember there flag.

I decided i was going to cycle to the FA cup final against stoke.
I planned a 3 day trip and all was going well until my chain snapped in the middle of day 2
I didn’t have a chain repair tool (amateur) so had to push my bike to the nearest town (Towcester)
Locals pointed me towards the bike shop but unfortunately they didn’t do repairs and the nearest one that did was 6 miles away at Silverstone race track.
A local taxi company agreed to pick up me and my bike to take me there.
Now bearing in mind i was about 120 miles from Manchester at the time imagine my amazement when the driver arrived and had a City top on !!
He supported City when he was a lad just because everyone else supported United !
The club heard about the ride and I was on Granada reports and GMR a few times !
I did a VLOG of the ride if anyone wants a laugh

Enjoyed that cheers.

Met two lads from Norway in Huacachina, Peru in the early 00’s. One of the swore his dad was the head of the city supporters club back home. Spent a couple days chatting city and admiring the two supermodels they were with.

Was traveling from Koh samui to pattaya for my flight back to the uk (no flights to Bangkok from samui) and decided to stay two nights in pattaya. Anyway i was told about this enormous temple on the outskirts and decided to have a look. Ordered a taxi and off we went when we arrived I got out and so did the taxi driver and I hadn’t noticed on the trip that he had a brothers City shirt on. Think a blue had given it him.

When I worked on the cross channel.ferries we had a safety inspection onboard, these were obviously always a bit nervy. Although we did everything right when somebody is scrutinising everything with a fine tooth comb you are dreading they'll spot a mistake. The guy inspecting my area said he lived in Cornwall as we chatted and I said, "That's not a Cornish accent." It turns out he was originally from Manchester and a Blue! We passed the inspection and he said he still went to games, that was before the takeover. Blues are everywhere lol.

The one I love is the City fan I, and hundreds of others met in Nice train station. We were all over for the Monaco game and had to get the train front Nice.
The scruffiest looking train guard was mithering everyone shaking hands, smiling and talking gibberish (OK French) in a fast unintelligible dialect. Suddenly he opened his uniformed coat to reveal a City shirt. Whilst all his colleagues carried on working he stood chatting (no one got a word in edgeways and we couldn'tView attachment 46487 understand him) and having his photo taken.

Ha ha that guard looks a right character, typical Blue!

I went for a cardiac ablation two days ago. I met a fella called Dave from cheadle heath in the bed next to mine, only him and I on the ward. He too was a blue and 30 years my senior.

We got chatting and turns out he is the brother in law of a ex city player I’d never heard of called Colin Barratt. The stories were really interesting and especially the one about his meeting with Brian clough in leek when Nottingham forest wanted to purchase him from city. He went on to win the European cup and score against Liverpool. Unfortunately got injured in his mid twenties and forced to retire.

Brilliant to listen too and helped enormously with the waiting too be seen.

If your out there Dave, I hope all is well mate.

And thank you.

I saw Colin Barret play, decent player.

Holiday apartment burgled in Andalusia, reported it to the local police in a small town up in the hills. As soon as we gave Manchester as our address, the Spanish plod behind the desk drops his pen and runs into the back of the station. Came out a minute later resplendent in a classic 1989 home shirt and revealed his obsession with Steve Redmond.
