Optimus Prime in the other thread made a lot of sense imho!
The purpose of all these loans is so their sales in the summer show in the the figures which will be looked at as part of the new FFP rules - this starts in the summer, so there is absolutely no sense in selling a player now - it would be madness.
By all accounts we've managed to get West Ham, Blackburn and Real to pay the full wages for these players until the end of the season, so they are off the wage bill, then the players are sold in the summer so we can put their fees towards the figurse considered by UEFA for the FFP.
The wording on the Real website states they have him on loan until the summer "at which point the Club hold a unilateral option to purchase the player" - sounds like a binding deal is in place for the summer, unless I'm misinterpreting it.
Excellent deal from our side - I can't see a negative to it.
