TBF to Winter he was sold down the river by Garry Cook which is why he was arsey for a year or so
But if you read any of his articles over the last two years you will see that they are very balanced indeed
He even had the temerity to say how crap Zinedine Cleverly was on Five Live last night

Henry Winter has liked City since we played Newcastle at St James' Park in the FA Cup in 2002. I remember him saying soon after that he spent time with some City fans in Newcastle city centre before the game and on Sunday Supplement at the end of that season he mentioned us saying it was the best travelling support he'd seen all season. Thought we were a great fanbase from then on.

He thought Garry Cook was a cûnt and reported as such. Away from Cook he's always been really fair to us.

I want to believe he is blue but something tells me he is an Evertonian.
In fact i have no fucking idea but yeah he is funny.
For someone without twitter i have followed him rather closely for the funnies.

He does indeed have some uncanny ability to make many many dumb plastic reds (mainly) bite.

A comment i expected i may have to qualify that lloydie so fair one that.

I would say yeah you would be right, and you could interchange maybe 4 other "noted" reporters names with his...to an extent.
I have defo noticed a more balanced tone recently, go back to at least his report on us v Arse, it was the only one that tallied with blues with not blue specs exactly but a half full outlook.
He at least demonstrated to me he does know the score.

The landscape is different now post ferguson much to the shame of all these reporters no doubt.
One major fact was though he hurt individuals livelihoods due to them doing no more than their job.
This inspired fear and subservience to a degree, banned reporters, refused interviews etc etc.

Now that stranglehold is gone to a massive degree it should i hope inspire objectivity more.
Looking beyond the cheap shot stuff at utd i can sense the tone or reporting changing for the better.

What i would say lloydie is if you can, swallow it and give these sods another chance, some are just rag mouth pieces but some were just spineless or forced to toe the line.
If you can't then i totally see you pov mate, i do.

Last season one freelance reporter even contacted a mod here saying this was exactly the case and if he did step out of line and got banned from ot he was fucked.

Mostly I give the press no more than a pfft! these days, I dont even bother with The Pidge & Cokey Show but I get the "I" on a wed/thur/fri (prob why I missed his match report) and I somehow manage to refrain from choking on my sarny. I'll admit that I've grown a barrowload of expectation about his "reporting",and the rest of the media for that, but there are notable exceptions and as they are opinion formers I still keep an eye on them without letting it get to me too much.
SB is on the whole OK, the MUEN is, however, shite and I've not touched it since about 2004, I had the argument with SB a few years back (re column inches, I actually measured it over a period of 3/4 mths when I was working in town so got the paper free) and was unconvinced by his defence so remain of an opinion that will not be re-visited without some major change of tack and growing a spine on their part.
