The formality of school uniform is strangely archaic and out of touch. As a parent the expectations also cost a fortune and the current standard simply seems to be a case of "but it's always been like that."

I understand the need for some level of uniform for consistent standards within a school, and a free for all with clothing with subsequent have's versus have not's bullying needs to be avoided. But there's got to be a better, cheaper, more comfortable way.

The obsession that certain "news" websites have with Roy Keane.

Joe.ie for example posting a story today - Roy Keane has studio in hysterics over comment to magician Dynamo.

It happened about a year ago. we've all seen the story before

People who don’t wear a tie with a blazer.

And then make it even worse by wearing their top two buttons of their shirt undone.

Looks bloody stupid and scruffy. Might as well wear a pair of trainers with that get-up n’all. It’s often done by those think-they’re-a-cool-middle-aged-dad types who think it’s trendy (see Richard Masters as an example, he’s always at it), but even younger blokes do it sometimes.

Goes against the gentleman’s CoC with regards to suits.

My local school has commissioned a blazer made from denim which is cheaper and hard wearing.
In contrast, my grandson has just started school and is required to wear a uniform. Madness.

Are baggy trousers also part of the uniform?

Not that they are real, obviously, but the latest one that asked is called "Red" so they can fuck right off.
