Stupid little things that bug you

Indeed! Latte an Italian word meaning ‘milk’ and is pronounced “lat”(as in bay cat mat...twat) with an “e” at the end. Latte. It actually couldn’t be any easier as every letter in the word is pronounced as it phonetically sounds.

It’s the same with Milan. In Italian it’s pronounced Meelan... our way of saying Milan as we do is fine but some people say Milaaarn. Proper annoying.

Especially as Milan in Italian is Milano. Meelan is just a pseud's way of pronouncing the name of AC Milan. Nobody ever says Inter Meelan.

The way the Colonials drop the first vowel, but overemphasise the second vowel in some people's names.

e.g. Pharrell , is pronounced (by them) as PhrEll, where it should be pronounced with an equal emphasis on the A, as with the pronunciation of Farrell, the English rugby (league and union) player.

"ShnIa" Twain (singer)
BrnArd Hopkins (boxer)
MrIce Green (athlete)
being other examples
