Sturridge - Chelsea

Does he actually expect ridiculous wages when he doesnt even play??

Hes only good every now and again (blackburn) then never does anything to impress after I get excited about him

I like what I see of Sturridge. He has a bit of skill and looks a more natural scorer than Ched , Jo , and Big Phil. I think he will get a good deal and I also think that Chelsea wont come in for him as he wont get a look in there for some time. If he stays fit here and is up for the fight he has a better chance of being a regular here than there. I think a fully fit Sturridge could well score a good few goals for us so I would rather we strike some sort of deal with him as he could be the 1 out of the lot that will come back to kick us in the balls.

There is space at Chelsea for Sturridge, we wouldn't still be pursuing him otherwise, he is oviously thought of as the best attacking English player that the youth ranks had to offer, initially we set out to recruit all of Sturridge, Sinclair and Walcott before they'd gained mainstream popularity, at the time Sturridge was rated the No.1 target..

Different people are now in charge yet our pursuit has never layed up, like it has done with other players like Victor Moses.

He's a great talent, and there isn't much of that in the attacking area for England, we'd be getting him for a bargain, a player with an attitude to want to prove he is amongst the world's best.

I think you can be 100% sure that Hughes rates Sturridge highly as a player so get rid of any thoughts like that. As for whether we should agree to £65000 a week , well that's going to split opinion down the middle but I am also sure that if he goes it is for the money and that would be really sad.

He has no guarantee of a first team spot at Chelsea and I doub't also that they would pay him £ 65K either but sometimes things happen for the wrong reasons.

Is it my imagination or do other players not like him, dont seem to be very pleaased when he scores??

They probably thought the goal against blackburn was a consolation, therefore nothing much to celebrate, and he took Elano's penalty v Arsenal with game over (after not stepping up to take one in denmark) so he did not deserve much celebrating then.

I agree that he would be hard pressed to get a first team place with Chelsea. I hope Danny signs a new City contract and buckles down, does the hard work and proves he is worth a first team place; then he would be right to demand big money. Stephen Ireland is the example he should follow. Remember the grass is always greener elsewhere or so it seems, he only needs to look at the way Chelsea near destroyed SWP England career. Stick with City, worry about the money later, get out clauses can cover that angle, thats my humble advice, become a City legend.

Chelsea should have never have gone for SWP, he was never good enough, never will be, but it's up to these players to make the decision of whether or not they are good enough to compete at the top level.

If your talented enough make the switch, if you're not, be honest with yourselves.

Sturridge believes he is going to be one of the worlds best, Chelsea have shown consistently for years they're interested, and would do everythibg to give him the platform to reach his goals.

Some sink and some swim, Lampard, Terry, J.Cole were all able to compete.
Gerrard and Carragher are able to compete...

SWP had the ability to leave earlier, he chose to stick it out, you cannot blame Chelsea, for that. Robbie Keane left when things were not going his way.

If you are going to make the jump to test yourself, better do it earlier than later.

SWP was City's best player by a mile, Sturridge is lucky ro come on as sub.

Anyone would want SWP at the time, Chelsea's play did not suit him.
