If Hughes made a mistake, then what about his coaching staff and what about the managers and staff at Chelsea. These are all good football people whose self-interest is in selecting the best players

I seem to remember Chelsea offering £1M when he was 15 which we turned down. He always knew Chelsea were after him and let his contract run down rather than signing a new one.
